Wales Injury Update As Josh Adams Ruled Out Of Scotland Clash

The latest Wales injury update is bad news for Josh Adams, with the winger ruled out of Saturday’s trip to Edinburgh to face Scotland.

The 29-year-old Cardiff man also missed Wales’ 27-18 defeat to Ireland last time out, and has not managed to get fit for this weekend.

In better news, Gloucester’s Gareth Anscombe has been passed fit after the fly-half suffered a head injury against the Irish.

Wales scrum coach Adam Jones said: “Gareth is fine and good to go.

“It’s good to have the voice. He came in as if he hadn’t been away. It’s been good to have him leading it.”

Wales are currently on their worst ever run of results, losing the previous 15 test matches.

Cardiff boss Matt Sherratt has taken over as interim head coach after Warren Gatland departed following the side’s 22-15 defeat to Italy.

Positive Wales Injury Update As Dewi Lake Nears Return

As well as Anscombe’s fitness, there is more good news for Wales.

Hooker Dewi Lake is closing in on a return after the Ospreys hooker missed the opening three rounds.

The Ospreys man, 25, has been out with an arm injury and hasn’t played in the Six Nations since 2022 due to a string of injury problems.

But he led the side in their summer tour of Australia, and impressed during the autumn internationals in November.

Adam Jones added: “Dewi has been excellent and it is good to have him back.

“He’s a former captain and has been a big player for Wales in the last few years.

And the former Wales prop also believed Lake could play himself into British and Irish Lion contention with a few more impressive performances.

“He’s been mentioned in certain [Lions] squads. He’s got a point to prove, that’s the beauty of this year,” said Jones.

“Anyone who plays well in the Six Nations has a chance to tour in the summer.

“There are a few boys in our squad who are in the mix and he’s one of them.”
