West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is keen on securing a move away from the relegation-threatened side in January, according to Wednesday’s transfer rumours.
Wednesday’s Premier League Transfer Rumours
Lucas Paqueta Keen To Leave West Ham in January
West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is reportedly keen on leaving the club in January.
The Times report that the Brazilian, who had a move to Aston Villa fall through in the summer, wants to seal a move away from the relegation-threatened club as soon as the window opens.
Their report also states that the Hammers are open to selling the 28-year-old, as they are desperate to build up their cash fund in order to make new signings.
Paqueta has already confirmed that this is his final campaign at the London Stadium, despite his contract running until 2027, but could his time at the club be cut even shorter this winter?
Botafogo and Flamengo have been dubbed as potential destinations for the ex-Lyon star.
Following the news of his potential January exit, Paqueta has seemingly responded on X (formerly Twitter). Accompanied by a smiley face, he posted an image of him and his two sons sporting full West Ham kits at the club’s stadium.

It comes as the East London outfit sit in a lowly 19th place in the Premier League table.
With pressure already mounting on newly appointed Nuno Espirito Santo, former Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is the current favourite in the next West Ham manager betting odds market.
Napoli To Reignite Interest In United’s Kobbie Mainoo
Serie A champions Napoli are set to make a new move for Kobbie Mainoo in January.
Gazzetta dello Sport report that Antonio Conte believes he has tapped into a winning formula by offering out-of-favour Man United players an opportunity to reignite their careers in Italy.
It comes off the back of successful moves for Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund.
McTominay won the Serie A Most Valuable Player award last term and was nominated for the Ballon d’Or following a title-winning season in Naples, while Hojlund has started the season in fine form by netting four goals in seven appearances for the Italian champions.
Could Mainoo become the latest name to star for Conte’s side? He has managed just 138 minutes in the Premier League this term, and he looks as though he’s ready for a new challenge.
Villa Holding Morgan Rogers Contract Talks
Reports suggest that Aston Villa are holding talks over a new contract for Morgan Rogers.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the West Midlands outfit are keen to tie the England international down to a new deal following interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
The 23-year-old has emerged as a key player under Unai Emery at Villa Park, having totalled 14 goals and 16 assists in 54 appearances for the club across all competitions last season.
Villa are set to offer Rogers a significant pay rise to help reflect his status at the club.
His current contract, penned in November 2024, runs until the summer of 2030.
Chelsea ‘Frontrunners’ To Sign 23-Year-Old Right-Back
Football Insider report that Chelsea are frontrunners to sign Guela Doue from Strasbourg.
The right-back, whose brother is Paris Saint-Germain star Desire Doue, is said to be drawing interest from the West London club amid concerns over Reece James’ fitness record.
It is claimed that the Blues are monitoring the performances of the Ivory Coast international in France, with Aston Villa and Brighton also said to be in the race to sign the 23-year-old.
Given the Blue Co. multi-club ownership link between Chelsea and Strasboug, however, Enzo Maresca’s side undoubtedly have an upper hand on their Premier League rivals in negotiations.
As revealed in Monday’s Premier League transfer rumours roundup, Juventus are keen on Malo Gusto. If the Frenchman does depart, it will likely accelerate the Blues’ move for Doue.
Manchester City Keen on Tying Rodri Down to New Deal
Manchester City have opened talks with Rodri over a new contract.
TBR Football understands that Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to finalise the Spaniard’s new deal before the end of the calendar year despite his recent injury concerns.
Rodri spent the majority of last season on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury in September, and he is currently ruled out with a hamstring injury suffered earlier in the month.
Regardless, he remains one of City’s most crucial players, and reports suggest that his contract, which currently runs until 2027, will be extended in the coming months to reflect that status.
The Cityzens are also keen on tying academy graduate Phil Foden down to a new contract.
