Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has deleted all references to the club from his Instagram as speculation over his future continues.
The 24-year-old French centre-back has been plagued by injuries and struggled for form since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Rarely able to string more than a couple of games together, he has been unable to nail down a consistent place in Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Fofana was named on the bench for Chelsea’s opening Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
But he watched on without being called upon as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Having hardly featured for the Blues, he has now deleted all evidence of being a Chelsea player from his Instagram account.
Wesley Fofana Instagram Purged Of Chelsea Content
At the weekend, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca left Fofana on the bench as Trevor Chalobah was partnered at the back by young Josh Acheampong.
Fofana has responded by removing any reference to Chelsea from his Instagram account.
This isn’t the first time the defender has purged his Insta of pictures from his current club.
In 2022, he deleted all images relating to Leicester City when wanting to force a move away.
He also posted a message, translated from French, on his Instagram story.
It said: “My father told me you’re going to annoy a lot of people when you start doing what’s best for you and I’ve begun to realise it.”
Key Chelsea defender Levi Colwill suffered an ACL injury in pre-season, giving Fofana an opportunity.
But manager Maresca’s damning assessment of the Frenchman’s recent performance suggests he won’t be playing.
Maresca said:Â “Wes played 45 minutes in that position.
“It was the first half against Bournemouth away. Probably one of the worst halves since we started.”
He is therefore expected to depart the club, with UK betting sites suggesting Marseille could be a likely destination.

It’s been a horror-spell in West London for Wesley Fofana.
Once regarded as one of the most talented young defenders in Europe, his stock has plummeted.
Fofana didn’t play one minute of football under ex-Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino.
He picked up a hamstring issue last term and played just 14 games in the Premier League.

Having returned to fitness in March, he played right-back briefly before another surgery-requiring setback.
Fofana cost Chelsea £70 million from Leicester in 2022, but has made just 34 total appearances in that time.

Despite making his senior debut for Saint-Etienne back in 2018-19, Wesley Fofana has played barely 100 professional games of football.
The centre-back joined Leicester City in 2020-21, making 52 appearances and notching one goal and one assists.
Since his big-money move to Chelsea, has has only managed 34 games in all competitions, with two goals.
Fofana debuted for France in June 2023, but is het to add a second senior international cap.
