How did the Indianapolis Colts remove the bitter taste of a shocking, Carson Wentz-dooming Week 18 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars from their mouths? They followed up that playoff-eliminating defeat with a strong offseason that should allow them to kick off the 2022 NFL schedule in style.

Jonathan Taylor remains in place as one of the league’s most dominant running backs, and the Indy passing game should be revitalized with Matt Ryan, rather easily the greatest quarterback in Atlanta Falcons history, coming aboard to throw passes to Michael Pittman Jr., Parris Campbell, and Alec Pierce — the leading member of a 2022 draft class that checked in at No. 7 in Sportcasting’s official rankings.

Oh, and the Colts also landed Yannick Ngakoue and Stephon Gilmore to help shore up a defense that was already a top-10 unit in 2021.

That’s a long way of saying that the 2022 schedule could contain a lot of Ws by the time the playoffs roll around and, in all likelihood, feature a certain Ryan-led outfit.
