2025 Stanley Cup Final Game 6: NHL Fans Respond To Fast-Starting Florida Panthers Slipping Past Edmonton Oilers For Repeat Title

Another fast start.

Another Stanley Cup championship.

For the sixth consecutive NHL postseason game, the Florida Panthers scored multiple first-period goals and cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. The Panthers won the series, 4-2.

Edmonton’s final series loss marked another national failure. A team from Canada has not won the Stanley Cup since 1993.

Paced Tuesday night by Sam Reinhart’s record-matching four goals, the Panthers earned consecutive Stanley Cup titles. They are the first to accomplish the feat since the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and ‘21.

The Panthers, who established a series record for time lead in a Cup final, became the second team in NHL history to score at least two goals in the first period in six consecutive playoff outings, matching the 1988 Detroit Red Wings.
