NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Layne Riggs is not in Las Vegas, but he felt like No. 34 Ford team “hit it right on the money.”
At Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, Riggs earned his first career pole position after turning a hot lap of 169.409 mph Friday, edging Kaden Honeycutt and circuit points leader Corey Heim.
The MillerTech Battery 200 is scheduled for Friday at the 2.5-mile tri-oval track.

Aussie Driver Cam Waters Back For More
Cam Waters wants to be like … Shane?
Well, let’s just say Waters wants to emulate Cup Series regular Shane van Gisbergen, who visited Victory Lane last Sunday at Mexico City.
After making his Truck Series debut last year at Martinsville Speedway, Waters started P22 and finished P30 following a Lap 176 crash. The Supercars ace wants more in his national series return, which is slated for Lime Rock Park on June 27-28.
Waters, a two-time runner-up in the Supercars championship, also competed in a Truck Series race at Kansas (P19) and a Cup Series event at Sonoma (P35 after crash)
Walter could feel more at home on a road course, similar to van Gisbergen winning last Sunday by nearly 17 seconds. Before making the full-time jump to NASCAR, van Gisbergen earned three Supercars titles.
Lime Rock Park will host its first national series race in 14 years.
“Lime Rock is a fast and flowing road course, which I feel I’ll be very well-suited to, and I can’t wait to hit the track in my No. 66 Ford,” Waters said, as reported by TobyChristie.com.
Let’s run it back, mate🇦🇺
Australia’s own is back on U.S. soil. Cam Waters returns to ThorSport Racing for Lime Rock in the No. 66 Ford F-150. Let’s ride.
Tune into FOX Sports 1 (FS1) to catch all the racing action from Lime Rock Park on Saturday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
