NASCAR Xfinity Series Fans Respond To BetRivers 200 Action At Dover Motor Speedway

Stronger than before.

Since returning from a one-race absence because of a bad back, NASCAR Xfinity Series rookie Connor Zilisch has not finished outside the top five. In the rookie’s last eight outings, including Saturday’s visit to Victory Lane during a rain-shortened event at Dover Motor Speedway, he posted a 2.25 average finish.

Zilisch’s second consecutive win pushed him past Austin Hill and Sam Mayer in the drivers’ standings into second place. He paces the series with 24 playoff points.

“We’ve been showing it lately,” Zilisch told CW. “First of all, I hate that we couldn’t finish the race the right way. Aric (Almirola) was really fast and would’ve given me a run for our money.”

Instead of a duel developing between Zilisch and Almirola, rain forced a Stage 3 stoppage, 68 laps short.

Known as a road-course ace, evidenced by his win at Sonoma last Saturday, Zilisch earned his second oval win this season. Will he continue contending for a series title?
