Rising NASCASR National Series driver Carson Kvapil signed a deal to join CR7 Motorsports for Friday night’s Truck Series event at Richmond.
With the Xfinity Series idle this weekend, Kvapil remains slated to help revive the No. 97 Chevrolet team, which has been sidelined since 2024 Daytona race. In his first full Xfinity Series campaign, the 22-year-old pilot posted 10 top-10 finishes in 23 outings. He ranks sixth in the drivers’ standings.
“It will be a bit of a learning curve as I have never been to Richmond, but I look forward to the experience and opportunity,” Kvapil said per press release. “I’m real excited to join CR7 Motorsports.”
Kvapil competed in one previous Truck race, placing 12th at Bristol in 2023.
Series points leader Corey Heim (-150) continues to draw the favorite sports-betting odds to capture the Truck Series’ drivers’ championship, according to BetOnline Sportsbook.
