Corey Heim Cruising Toward 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship, Layne Riggs Chasing

Corey Heim is lining up to become the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ winningest single-season pilot.

After visiting Victory Lane eight times during his 19 starts this season, Heim potentially has six more outings to win at least one more event, which would match Greg Biffle’s all-time record of nine victories in 1999.

The series’ overwhelming favorite to capture the 2025 championship, Heim has captured three straight races and six of seven.

The Truck Series is idle this weekend and returns Sept. 11 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Heim (-150) remained the sports-betting favorite to claim the title, according to BetOnline Sportsbook.

As the first circuit pilot to qualify for the Round of 8, Heim credited his teammates.

“So proud of these guys,” Heim told Fox Sports. “It feels like I’m in a dream. Eight wins this year is just phenomenal. It’s crazy to look back on, but we’ve also got so much to look forward to, so just really speechless as far as the effort.

“It’s been an awesome ride and we’ll keep it going.”

Layne Riggs Attempting To Keep Pace

With Heim in line to establish a new series win mark, Layne Riggs is attempting to stay in position to challenge Heim for the series title. He drew the second-best odds at +350.

Heim and Riggs shared the lead during the early stages of last Saturday’s race at Portland International Raceway and both earned a stage win.

On Lap 128, however, Riggs’ machine endured tire trouble after he hit the wall along Turns 1 and 2. He ended up P17.

“I think that shows we’re still a contender,” Riggs said after the race.
