Joe Gibbs Racing drivers are not ready to relax after sweeping the three NASCAR Cup Series Round of 16 races.
Chase Briscoe kicked off the postseason with a crown jewel win at Darlington. Denny Hamlin was next at Gateway, followed by Christopher Bell’s victory at Bristol on Sunday.
Opening Round 12 Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the trio remained focused on keeping the momentum going for the organization based in Huntersville, N.C.
“Yeah, just so excited about the start to the playoffs,” owner Joe Gibbs said, via press release. “Just appreciate everybody back at our race shop. We’ve got fast cars right now. It means a lot.”
While Briscoe and Hamlin dominated en route to their playoff wins, Bell overcame tire issues to grind his way into Victory Lane. With teams experiencing tire degradation, Sunday’s race featured 38 lead changes among 14 drivers.
Bell could make it four straight for JGR at the Magic Mile. Bell posted two wins in his past five starts at NHMS, a P2 and a pole position. While driving in the Xfinity Series, Bell, a dirt-track specialist, won all four outings in the Granite State.
Hamlin paces the postseason standings with 26 points, two ahead of William Byron and Kyle Larson. Bell (+20) ranks fourth and Briscoe (+10) sixth.
After leading 343 laps at Bristol, Joe Gibbs Racing became the first team to lead 10,000 laps in the NextGen era
