Before executing his first turn during Saturday’s EcoSave 250 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Corey Heim absorbed contact with Layne Riggs, who was hit from behind by Grant Enfinger, and crashed into the wall.

Was the regular-season champion’s quest for a record-setting win done early?

Not a chance.

Heim continued this 2025 dominance by visiting Victory Lane for the 10th time this season, breaking the circuit’s single-season wins mark. In the first Truck Series event at the 17-turn, 2.28-mile course, Heim claimed his fifth consecutive road course race.

Heim recovered from the early damage and steadily moved through the field before outdueling rising prospect Brent Crews, who led for 56 laps and placed P2.

“It was not easy today — I think it was probably the toughest one of the year so far,” Heim said, as reported by NASCAR.com. “Just shows the resilience of this Tricon team. They fixed it up so good for me after that incident on the first lap — just kind of out of our control.

“I thought we were done, honestly. The right front completely folded when it hit the wall over there.”

Along with Heim establishing a new record, TRICON Garage became the third organization to sweep the podium: Heim, Crews and third-place finisher Gio Ruggiero. Previously, ThorSport Racing accomplished the feat in 2020 and ‘21.
