NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Love’s RV Stop 225: Qualifying, Giovanni Ruggiero’s Pole Position, Lineup At Talladega Superspeedway

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Corey Heim already rewrote the record book with 10 victories this season, earning a podium step for placing in the top three in eight consecutive outings.

Heim, the regular-season champion, has led at least one lap in each of the 22 circuit events this season and remains 89 laps led shy of matching Mike Skinner’s mark of 1,533 he established in 1996.

Over the past nine series races, Heim or Layne Riggs has visited Victory Lane. Stewart Friesen, who won at Michigan International Speedway on June 7, remains the last pilot other than the top two playoff drivers to win a race.

Six of the past seven races at the 2.66-mile tri-oval track have ended following a last-lap pass and four of the past six titleholders were first-time winners. The circuit continues traveling on a youth movement as 18 races claimed by drivers aged 25 or under.

Rookie Giovanni Ruggiero earned the pole position for Friday’s Love’s RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway, registering a hot qualifying lap of 176.38 mph, edging Ty Majeski by 0.001 seconds and Heim by 0.016. Ruggiero posted his second career pole.
