The Los Angeles Rams are the best team in the NFC for one reason: versatility.
When the defense was needed in Week 1, Nate Landman delivered a gut-punch to the Houston Texans. The Rams linebacker forced a game-clinching fumble with 1:43 remaining in the 14-9 victory.
When the offense started to make a statement, wide receiver Puka Nacua raced out to 52 receptions in the opening five weeks of the season. The Rams started 3-2.
Over the past six outings, all wins, quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to play at a Hall of Fame level.
Since throwing his last interception in Week 3, Stafford, the leading candidate to earn league MVP honors, has delivered 27 consecutive touchdown passes.
The Rams dismantled the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 34-7, in their latest outing and travel to face the Carolina Panthers (6-6) next Sunday. Two of the Panthers’ top three cornerbacks went down with injuries Monday night.
“It was a great atmosphere out there today,” Stafford said, as reported by The Associated Press. “Our fans did a great job showing up. Obviously both sides of the ball gave them something to cheer about early and often, which was really cool.”
