The general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers isn’t taking Lorraine Grohs very seriously. Grohs is the Florida woman demanding an apology from Bucs quarterback Tom Brady for throwing the Lombardi Trophy from one boat to another during last week’s Super Bowl parade. Jason Licht, the Bucs GM, responded to a Twitter post regarding Grohs’ demand in a hilarious way.

Tom Brady’s last throw came during a Super Bowl parade

It’s tough to say Tom Brady shocked the world these days. Brady, however, came close when he guided the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to another Super Bowl title in his first year with the team. The championship was the seventh of Brady’s illustrious career and Tampa Bay’s second in franchise history.

It wasn’t easy for Brady. The Buccaneers finished 11-5 in the regular season and were the fifth seed heading into the postseason. Tampa Bay was facing three straight road games just to reach the Super Bowl. Brady and the Bucs won all three, including a game against the Saints, who had defeated the Bucs twice during the regular season.

Tampa Bay then faced the Kansas City Chiefs, another team that had gotten the best of the Bucs during the regular season. Tampa entered as an underdog and made quick work of the Chiefs, claiming Super Bowl 55. During the parade, Brady was caught tossing the Lombardi Trophy from one boat to another.

Brady’s trophy throw had one woman fuming

When Tom Brady tossed the Lombardi Trophy to teammate Cameron Brate, who was in another boat during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers parade, one Florida woman was not happy. Lorraine Grohs was fuming because of Brady’s throw and has demanded an apology.

Grohs is the daughter of Greg Grohs, master silversmith at Tiffany and Company for 27 years. Greg Grohs helped make the very first Lombardi Trophy. Lorraine Grohs felt it was disrespectful for Brady to toss around a trophy that was carefully made by craftsmen like her father. She didn’t hide her feelings and has since demanded Brady apologize.

“It just upset me that this trophy was disgraced and disrespected by being thrown as if it was a real football,” said Grohs to Fox 4 Southwest Florida. “I have a big history of this trophy being made by my father and it’s such an honor and I know all the craftsmen that made it when my dad was there also at Tiffany’s and it takes a lot of hard work.”

Buccaneers GM Jason Licht offers hilarious Twitter response

Lorraine Grohs made headlines when she demanded an apology from Tom Brady. She’s been mocked all over social media for her stance on Tom Brady’s trophy toss. Even Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht got in on the action and he didn’t even say anything, according to The New York Post.

When Twitter user Kyle Berger posted a video of Grohs saying she was insulted by Tom Brady’s throwing of the trophy, Licht jumped in with a response. Licht posted a GIF of Warren Oates as Sgt. Hulka in the movie “Stripes” saying, “Lighten up, Francis.”

Judging by what’s been said on social media, Licht’s GIF is speaking for most football fans.
