We all remember Dan Campbell‘s infamous introductory press conference with the Detroit Lions, right?

You know, the one where he said his players would do anything (and I mean anything) to win, even if that meant biting the kneecaps off opposing players. I’m sure there was some hyperbole involved in that emotional sound bite, but one sportsbook is offering betting odds for the Lions to take Campbell’s instructions literally this season.

That’s right, you can bet on a Lions player to bite an opponent during the 2022 NFL season, and you can get paid 30/1 odds if it happens. Any takers?

NFL fans knew Campbell was a fiery competitor from his brief stint as the Miami Dolphins interim head coach in 2015, but his true colors came out when he was named the head coach of the Lions in 2021.

In his introductory press conference with the team, Campbell gave us one of the best sports quotes of this century.

“We’re gonna kick you in the teeth, and when you punch us back we’re gonna smile at you, and when you knock us down we’re gonna get up, and on the way, we’re gonna bite a kneecap off,” Campbell told reporters in January of 2021. “We’re gonna stand up, and it’s gonna take two more shots to knock us down. And on the way up, we’re gonna take your other kneecap, and we’re gonna get up, and it’s gonna take three shots to get us down. And when we do, we’re gonna take another hunk out of you.”

Yeah, it’s pretty clear why NFL players love fighting for this guy.

But would they actually go as far as to bite an opponent during a game? If you think they might, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is.

Unfortunately for us fans, no Lions player followed Campbell’s advice literally last season. But if they do this year, you can make a pretty penny on it.

Right now, Bovada is offering a prop bet titled, “Will any Detroit Lions player bite an opponent during the 2022-2023 regular season?” The yes is priced at +3000 ($100 nets $3,000), while the no is set at a juicy -10000 ($10,000 nets $100).

The only catch? The biter “must be fined or suspended for wager to be graded a winner.”

This could be the most enthralling prop bet to root for this NFL season, and there isn’t really a close second.
