The 2022 Las Vegas Raiders schedule will be one of the hardest in the NFL for one simple reason: The team plays in the AFC West, which suddenly became the toughest division in football this offseason.

The AFC West already had one of the best teams in the league in the Kansas City Chiefs and an up-and-coming organization in the Las Angeles Chargers. Now, with Russell Wilson heading to the Denver Broncos, this division is a murderers’ row.

The Raiders got much better this offseason, though, just like the Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos did. Reuniting quarterback Derek Carr with college teammate Davante Adams was step one, and adding feared pass-rusher Chandler Jones was step two.

Plus, even without many picks this year, the Raiders added some solid pieces on draft weekend. Memphis offensive lineman Dylan Parham was a steal at No. 90, and Georgia running back Zamir “Zeus” White makes the Raiders O even more explosive.

New head coach Josh McDaniels has his work cut out for him, but if he can bring a little bit of the “Patriot Way” to Sin City, the Raiders could be a true championship contender in 2022.

Did the Raiders do enough to compete in the historically talented AFC West? And, in his second time around as a head coach, is McDaniels the man for the job?
