Jack Wood Posts Career-Best NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Finish; Corey Heim Remains Drivers’ Title Favorite

As points leader Corey Heim continues his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship quest, the sports-betting favorite will do so with a new look in May.
Beginning with Friday night’s SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway, Heim’s No. 11 Toyota will be adorned with a new sponsor, Safelite Foundation. The deal also includes upcoming stops at Kansas Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Nashville Speedway.
Aided by two wins and six top-10 finishes during the circuit’s opening seven events, Heim (+180) remains the sports-betting favorite to earn his first drivers’ championship. He placed second in the final standings last season and third in 2023.
At Rockingham Speedway on April 18, Heim became the first series driver to earn a second fastest lap bonus point.

Jack Wood Nets Career-Best Finish at ‘The Rock’
In his first full season for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, Jack Wood is coming off his first top-10 finish in 30 series outings, finishing P7 after starting P24 at Rockingham.
After struggling with his entries along the corners and getting lapped by the leaders in his last outing, Wood ended the first stage P23. Crew chief Kevin Bellicourt ordered adjustments during the pit stop to ease the corner handling. Benefitting from a free pass, Wood discovered Stage-2 issues with the No. 91 Chevrolet’s braking. He opened the final segment P19. With 78 laps remaining, Wood’s started to rally. Near the end, with others falling out without fuel, Wood notched his career-best effort. The fifth-year pilot registered four top-10s in 68 starts.
“I am so lucky to have an awesome group behind me,” Wood said via press release. “I am really looking forward to more solid finishes this season.”
With a 23.1 career average finish, Wood drew +15000 odds to capture the series championship.
