As rumored, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Andres Perez de Lara had departed Spire Motorsports and signed a deal with Niece Motorsports.
A rookie-of-the-year candidate, Perez de Lara is slated to pilot the No. 44 Chevrolet during Friday night’s eero 250 at Richmond Raceway.
Spire announced that the operations of the No. 07 truck will cease for the remainder of the 2025 campaign, and the team’s points will pass to the No. 77 Chevrolet. Corey LaJoie joined the organization and will drive the newly formed 177 Chevrolet team.
Spire announced in a press release that it has “yet to solidify its 2026 Truck Series plans.”
Over the final eight circuit races, Perez de Lara will be directed by crew chief Wally Rogers.
With two top-10 finishes in 17 starts, Perez de Lara ranks No. 17 in the drivers’ standings, 463 points behind leader Corey Heim.
