NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Team EJP 175: Qualifying, Corey Heim’s Pole Position, Lineup At New Hampshire Motor Speedway

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ Corey Heim made a successful debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday.

The regular-season champion turned a hot qualifying lap of 131.583 mph, edging runner-up Chandler Smith by 0.057 seconds. In his first appearance at the “Magic Mile,” Heim earned his sixth pole of the season.

Saturday’s event marks the Round of 10 finale with Heim and Layne Riggs earning the opening two playoff wins.

“Being on the pole here is a pretty big deal,” Heim told Fox Sports. “I have high expectations for this group.“

With eight wins, Heim continues to dominate the circuit, but he has questions about the unfamiliar 1.058-mile oval.

“Part of the problem is I don’t know (what challenges the track may present),” Heim said. “I don’t have many laps here. Me, personally, (a challenge could be) trying to acclimate (to the track) and settle in.”

Ty Majeski (131.198 mph) and last weekend’s winner Layne Riggs (131.058) will start third and fourth, respectively, Saturday.

Heim posted the fastest practice lap, clocking in at 29.799 seconds.
