Corey Heim has continued developing a formidable reputation in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series over the past five seasons, placing second in the final standings in 2024 and third in ’23.
This season?
The 22-year-old pilot posted nine wins and 15 top-five finishes in 21 outings. Of 3,418 combined laps this season, Heim has led 1,436 rotations. He also earned six pole positions and remained the sports-betting favorite to capture his first drivers’ championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, drawing odds of -165.
Heim will likely continue to build his brand in all three national series next season. He is expected to drive part-time schedules for 23XI Racing (Cup Series), Sam Hunt Racing (O’Reilly Series) and TRICON Garage (Truck Series), according to Fox Sports.
Heim, who captured two of the first three playoff races, enters Friday’s Round of 8 opener at Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course with a direct path to the Championship 4 race. He and Layne Riggs have already qualified for the Oct. 31 finale at Phoenix Raceway.
Heim recorded his first Cup Series top-10 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 13.

Kris Wright Returning To McAnally-Hilgemann Racing
Kris Wright will get some extra work over the final weeks of the season.
McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced Tuesday that Wright will compete during Friday’s Round of 8 opener at Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course and at Talladega Superspeedway on Oct. 17.
Wright will get an opportunity to revive the No. 16 Chevrolet team, which has yet to race this season.
Wright has yet to register a top-10 finish in 47 series starts and led one of 5,682 career laps.
