NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Fans Respond To Giovanni Ruggiero Holding Off Corey Heim For Love’s RV Stop 225 Title

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Corey Heim didn’t need to win the middle Round of 8 event at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday. The regular-season champion already qualified for the Championship 4 race via playoff points and he visited Victory Lane a record 10 times this season. 

Still, after pushing TRICON Garage teammate Giovanni Ruggiero through most of the two overtime laps, but near the final turn, Heim didn’t hold back. He made his move. The rookie pole-sitter created a block and cruised to his first career win. 

“Just thanks to everybody at Toyota and everybody who supports me,” Ruggiero told Fox Sports. “It’s great to win a race with my mom and dad here, as well.” 

 Ruggiero led a race-high 37 laps.
