Justin Allgaier must feel like he’s in a good place. The reigning NASCAR Xfinity Series champion enters the Round of 8 24 points above the elimination line.
Plus, the circuit is headed to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a venue Allgaier won at last March and posted 19 top-10 finishes in 22 starts at the 1.5-mile tri-oval track.
If Allgaier, who has three wins this season, fails to advance at Las Vegas or Talladega Superspeedway on Oct. 18, Martinsville Speedway awaits in the finale of the third playoff round. Over his past 10 appearances at the half-mile “Paperclip,” the JR Motorsports driver compiled one win (Fall 2023) and nine top-10s.
At 39 years old, Allgaier has the experience to mount a bid for consecutive titles. A series winner of 28 races, Allgaier has qualified for the playoffs each season since 2016 and advanced to the Championship 4 race seven times.
With Las Vegas and Martinsville events approaching, Allgaier (+340), who drew the second-best sports betting odds to capture the 2025 drivers’ championship, appears to be in prime position, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Regular-season champion and JR Motorsports teammate Connor Zilisch, who has 10 wins this season, was tabbed as the favorite with -165 odds.
