O.J. Simpson Makes a Bold Statement About Cardinals Quarterback Kyler Murray
O.J. Simpson is big into Fantasy Football. The former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Hall of Famer can always be found on Twitter speaking about his team’s performance each week. This week, Simpson not only spoke about how bad his team performed but he also made a bold statement regarding Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.
O.J. Simpson may have had the best season ever for a running back

In 1973, O.J. Simpson put together an incredible season for a running back. Simpson, who was drafted with the first pick out of USC by the Buffalo Bills in 1969, racked up 2,003 rushing yards. He also led the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns. This was when the NFL regular season consisted of 14 games.
Simpson was named the MVP that season and the Buffalo Bills didn’t even make the playoffs. They finished with a 9-5 record and the Pittsburgh Steelers at 10-4 beat the Bills by a game for the wild card. The 1973 season was Simpson’s fifth year in the league and it marked the third time he was voted to the Pro Bowl.
Simpson wound up playing 11 years in the NFL, nine with the Bills and two with the San Francisco 49ers. Knee injuries forced him into retirement, but not before he was named All-Pro five times and had six Pro Bowl appearances. Simpson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Who’s the front-runner for the MVP this season?
Earlier this season, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was the clear favorite to capture his first MVP honor. Through three games, Wilson had 14 touchdown passes and one interception. Through five games, he had 19 touchdown passes and three picks and the Seahawks were 5-0.
The Seahawks, however, have gone 1-3 in their last four starts. In those four games, Wilson has struggled mightily. He’s thrown seven interceptions as Seattle’s ground game has been decimated by injuries. For the season, Wilson has thrown a league-leading 28 touchdown passes and now has 10 interceptions.
Others in the race for MVP are Patrick Mahomes, the 2018 winner. Mahomes has the Kansas City Chiefs at 8-1 and has 25 touchdown passes with one interception. Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers has thrown 26 touchdown passes and has three interceptions, leading his team to a 7-2 mark. Kyler Murray has vaulted himself into the race after last week’s Hail Mary that improved the Arizona Cardinals’ record to 6-3. Murray has 17 touchdown passes with eight interceptions, but he also has rushed for 604 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Simpson says Kyler Murray is his choice for MVP
In his latest Tweet, O.J. Simpson blasted his Fantasy Football team for not scoring one touchdown this past week. While putting his team down, he had nothing but praise for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. Simpson said Murray is his choice for the NFL MVP.
“You know, I thought Russell Wilson was the MVP two weeks ago,” Simpson said in a Twitter video on Nov. 15. “Right now, I gotta tell you, Kyler Murray looks like the MVP. This kid is terrific.” Simpson followed that up with another video, praising Murray.
After last week’s Hail Mary completion to DeAndre Hopkins to beat Simpson’s Buffalo Bills, Simpson had more praise. “I can’t say enough about Kyler Murray. Kyler is the MVP as far as I’m concerned. At this point in football, I can’t think of one player who means more to his team, not even Patrick Mahomes, than Kyler Murray means to that Arizona football team.”
