Some are labeling Super Bowl 57 the “Kelce Bowl.” Sunday’s Super Bowl pits Travis Kelce vs. Jason Kelce as the brothers vie for the right to take home the coveted Lombardi Trophy.

Travis, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, goes up against Jason, the Philadelphia Eagles center, in one of the biggest subplots of the game. Have any other siblings ever squared off against each other in the Super Bowl?

Over the years, there have been plenty of brothers who played together in the NFL. Quarterbacks Payton Manning and Eli Manning come to mind. There are the Watt brothers, J.J., T.J., and Derek, and there were Sterling Sharpe and Shannon Sharpe, to name a few.

This year, we had running backs Dalvin Cook of the Minnesota Vikings and James Cook face each other in a regular-season game. The Kelce brothers are ready to become the first set of brothers to face off in a Super Bowl, or are they?

The Kelces will the first brothers to actually play against each other in a Super Bowl when Super Bowl 57 kicks off Sunday at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium. Technically, they’re not the first set of brothers to actually face each other in a Super Bowl.

Ten years ago, on Feb. 3, 2013, the San Francisco 49ers played the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl 47. Niners head coach Jim Harbaugh faced his brother, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, in an epic battle. The Ravens outlasted the 49ers, winning 34-31, sending John home as the winner of the sibling rivalry.

The Kelce brothers will try to keep things as normal as possible

Much has been made of the Kelces facing off against each other on Sunday. Although there is a lot of hype heading into Super Bowl 57, the brothers are planning to head into the game like they would any other.

“I’m going to try and keep it as regular as possible and not even feel like I’m playing my brother until after the game,” Travis said, per The Kansas City Star.

“Yeah, I think that’s the way to go,” Jason responded. “I think that’s what I’m going to try and do. I think on the field, there’ll be certain emotions that take over. You’re not going to be able to stop, and I’m not going to be able to stop. The testosterone is gonna be flowing, blood’s gonna be pumping, caffeine is gonna be rolling right now. It’s gonna be some energy, and it’s gonna be a fun one.”

When all was said and done, the Kelce boys got some words of wisdom from their mother, Donna.

“Leave it all out there in the field,” she said. “And just have a blast because this is going to be a great game.”
