The Los Angeles Dodgers had a total of nearly 4 million people attend their home games last season. They had the highest figure in the MLB for the second year in a row in 2024, which meant that they had the highest per game average, as well. But how much money did that earn them in terms of ticket sales? And where do they rank on the list of the highest gate revenues in all of baseball?

Which MLB Teams Earned The Most Ticket Revenue In 2024?

A study done by Boardroom found that the World Series winners also took in the most money in terms of ticket sales. The Dodgers have had the highest average attendance figure in the MLB every season since 2013, a streak that will likely continue into its 13th straight year in 2025, but they never saw themselves at the top of the list when it came to revenue at the gates.

That was due to modest ticket pricing, but a boost in the cost to attend a game changed all of that in 2024. The best team in baseball became more expensive to see play live, with an average ticket price of $181, which included both home and away games.

But as far as the contests at Dodger Stadium itself, the franchise was able to pull in $4.29 million per game in gate revenue, which was more than any other team around the league. Transposed over the entire home schedule, that figure comes out to roughly $347.5 million for the 81-game’s games played there.

It doesn’t hurt that the stadium in Chavez Ravine has a capacity of 56,000, the highest of any venue in the MLB.

Where Did Other Teams Rank On The List?

Other marquee teams weren’t far behind. The New York Yankees, who finished as runner ups to the Dodgers in the World Series, had a per-game gate revenue of $4.11 million, and the Chicago Cubs were in the top-3 at $3.25 million. The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros rounded out the top-5.

According to the Boardroom statistics, the teams at the bottom of the list generate about $500,000 per game in gate revenue, which includes premium seating.

Expect more of the same this season with the Dodgers. A report from Vivid Seats shows that the defending champions will be the most expensive draw in 2025, with average ticket prices running at $181, which counts for both home and away games. That is a 25% increase over the prices from last season when they led the league, which is the second-highest increase of any team this season (Tigers lead that category with 27%).

According to that same report, three Dodgers games are expected to be the most expensive ticket in the MLB this year. Opening Day tickets against the Tigers had a price of $604, while back-to-back games against the Yankees in June will run at more than $400 apiece.
