He made it look easy Monday night. Patrick Mahomes threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns against a stingy Baltimore Ravens defense. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was smiling and making it look effortless as he tore apart the Baltimore defenders. He sent a message to the rest of the league with his performance while his mother sent a message to the guys calling the game.

Patrick Mahomes remains perfect in September

It’s a given that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is good. It’s amazing to see what he’s done in the month of September during his brief NFL career. Mahomes is in his third season as the starting quarterback (fourth overall) and he has been flawless during the first month of the NFL season each year.

As a starter, Mahomes is 10-0, according to ESPN. He has thrown 32 touchdown passes and has not been intercepted. He’s averaged better than 330 passing yards per game. Mahomes was dominant Monday night with four touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens which allowed the Chiefs to improve to 3-0.

The Chiefs selected Mahomes with the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He was the second quarterback taken in 2017 with Mitchell Trubisky going ahead of him at No. 2. Mahomes was handsomely rewarded in the offseason with the NFL’s most lucrative deal ever that could be worth up to $500 million.

Mahomes was flawless Monday night

It was a matchup between the top two teams in the AFC. It was billed as Patrick Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson. When it was over, there as zero debate as to which team and which quarterback was better. Mahomes tossed four touchdown passes and threw for 385 yards, while Jackson threw for a career-low 97 yards as the Chiefs won 34-20.

Mahomes simply dominated on the road against a tough Ravens defense. He didn’t do anything to disappoint after signing his offseason deal that could be worth up to a half-billion dollars. “They don’t give that guy a half-billion dollars for no reason,” Ravens defensive tackle Calais Campbell said, according to ESPN. “He just made play after play. You’ve got to give him respect.”

Mahomes completed 31 of 42 passes and looked very comfortable in doing so. It’s getting to where it’s becoming another ho-hum performance by the Chiefs quarterback. “You got to give credit to Pat for leading the charge. He stepped up big,” Kansas City coach Andy Reid said.

MNF announcers hear from Mahomes’ mother during game

During the game, Patrick Mahomes’ mother found a flaw. It didn’t have anything to do with her son’s performance, however. She was annoyed how one of the Monday Night Football announcers was referring to her son at Pat Mahomes, not Patrick. “If this announcer doesn’t stop calling my son Pat.. ugh I may scream… lol,” Randi Mahomes tweeted.

The tweet was put on the television screen and Louis Riddick admitted he was the guilty party. “Guilty, guilty, guilty,” Riddick said. “I apologize, Patrick.”

After the game, Patrick Mahomes was told what happened and cleared things up. “My mom says I’m Patrick and my dad is Pat,” he told Lisa Salters. “So hopefully we can start calling (me) Patrick just to keep her happy because I don’t want to hear that tonight.”
