Patrick Mahomes was one of the brightest stars of an intoxicating Sunday Night Football matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. The All-Pro quarterback threw for 343 yards and three scores against Baltimore’s banged-up defense, but the Ravens prevailed in the end for a 36-35 win.

Despite his stellar performance in the game, the Chiefs signal-caller wasn’t even the most popular Mahomes on the internet Sunday night. Jackson Mahomes, Patrick’s little brother and a famous Tik Tok personality, went viral after a video appeared online of him dousing a heckling Ravens fan with water in the bleachers. Between Patrick’s loss and Jackson’s temper tantrum, it wasn’t a banner night for the Mahomes family.

Boy, what a way to finish a thrilling day of football.

Mahomes and Lamar Jackson battled on Sunday night for the fourth time in their careers, and the duo put together the most entertaining chapter of their young rivalry. The Chiefs got out to an early lead with a pick-six on Jackson’s second passing attempt of the game, and they took a 21-17 lead into the halftime locker room.

In the third quarter, Mahomes completed two touchdown passes to stretch the lead to 11 entering the fourth. But Jackson countered with two rushing scores in the final quarter to give the Ravens a one-point lead with just over three minutes to play.

Mahomes quickly led Kansas City into field goal range as the clock ticked toward zero, but the Chiefs lost possession after Clyde Edwards-Helaire coughed up a fumble on an inside rushing attempt. A first-down run by Jackson four plays later iced the game.

After the loss, Mahomes wasn’t happy that his comeback attempt fell short, and apparently, neither was his brother.

Patrick Mahomes’ brother goes viral after dumping water on Ravens fan’s head

Patrick Mahomes is by far the most famous name in the family, but his little brother, Jackson, isn’t too far behind. Jackson Mahomes has more than 970,000 followers on TikTok, and his videos have racked up more than 33 million likes combined.

The 21-year-old posted a TikTok from the sidelines before the game on Sunday night, but a different video is now going viral for all the wrong reasons.

After the Chiefs’ loss, Instagram user bobbysworld88 posted a video of himself heckling Mahomes’ brother and his friends in the bleachers, and Jackson angrily grabbed a water bottle and dumped it all over the cameraman. Jackson and his crew immediately walked out of their box in frustration as the Ravens fan continued to yell in their direction.

It wasn’t a great look all around, but Jackson caught most of the heat because of his famous name.

Jackson Mahomes responds

Jackson Mahomes, being the social media-savvy personality he is, decided to hop online himself and make a joke about the whole situation. He took to Twitter late Sunday night and lightened the mood with a three-word response to the viral video.

“they were thirsty,” he wrote in a tweet.

Well played.

Luckily for Patrick, his brother took some of the spotlight off him after the Chiefs suffered their first loss of the 2021 season. Maybe this was their plan all along.
