Welcome to Players Championship week, the best non-major week on the PGA Tour schedule. Twenty-seven of the top 30 players in the Official World Golf Ranking will highlight the loaded field at TPC Sawgrass this year, and the only three golfers missing from that list aren’t eligible to participate because of their defection to LIV Golf.

It isn’t easy for sportsbooks to pick a betting favorite right now because of the wealth of talent at the top of the PGA Tour, but it must be done. So, who is the favorite to win the Players Championship?

The question shouldn’t be who is the favorite to win the Players Championship. Instead, it should be who are the favorites to win the Players Championship.

That’s right, there are two players currently tied at the top of the odds board: World No. 1 Jon Rahm and World No. 3 Rory McIlroy. Rahm and McIlroy have been pegged as the co-favorites to win the Players Championship at +850 odds.

That isn’t necessarily a surprise considering how dominant both players have been this year. Before his T39 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week, Rahm won three of his first six starts to begin the season and didn’t finish worse than T7. As for McIlroy, the Northern Irishman won his season debut at the CJ Cup and just finished one shot behind winner Kurt Kitayama at the API.

Rahm and McIlroy deserve to be the co-favorites this week, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if either lifted up the Players Championship trophy on Sunday afternoon.
