Jobe Does Not Wear Bellingham on His Shirt - Borussia Dortmund

Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham has officially joined Borussia Dortmund in a club-record sale for the North East club.

The 19-year-old has signed a five-year deal with Bundesliga outfit Dortmund.

Sunderland have confirmed the fee received is a club record, believed to be in the region of £27 million, with a further £4.2 million in add-ons.

Bellingham completed a medical at Dortmund earlier this week, with the German side announcing the signing on Tuesday.

The midfielder made 90 appearances for Sunderland since debuting in 2023.

He played a huge role in helping the Black Cats return to the Premier League via the play-off final win.

Like older brother and Real Madrid star Jude, Jobe Bellingham is a product of the Birmingham City academy.

He now follows in his elder sibling’s footsteps, who also moved to Borussia Dortmund as a youngster.

After news broke of his move to Germany, Jobe Bellingham thanked Sunderland and wished them all the best.

In a statement, he said: “I will always represent Wearside in all that I strive to achieve for the rest of my career, wherever that may be.”

Jobe Bellingham Transfer Makes Him Available To Dortmund For Club World Cup

Thanks to the deal being completed before 10 June, Jobe Bellingham is eligible for Dortmund in the Club World Cup.

Starting on Sunday, the new-look tournament sees 32 top club sides face off to be crowned the world’s best.

The Club World Cup draw features two Premier League teams, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Dortmund’s opening fixture is against Brazilian side Fluminense on 17 June.

Bellingham has been named in Lee Carsley’s England Under-21 squad for the European Championships this month.

But the age-grade manager has said he will allow players to participate in the Club World Cup if selected.

Jobe Bellingham Sends Farewell Message To Sunderland Fans

In a heartfelt goodbye message to the Sunderland faithful, Bellingham paid tribute to the fans who welcomed him to Wearside.

He said: “I hope that I have made you proud along the way, and in return, you have made me the player that has reached the heights I find myself at today.

“I will love and remember you fondly for the rest of my life.”

Jobe Bellingham Stats

Despite still being only 19 years old, Jobe Bellingham has plenty of senior experience.

After breaking through the academy at Birmingham City, he made his first-team debut for the Blues in 2021-22.

At 16 years and 107 days, he became the club’s second-youngest ever debutant.

Bellingham went on to play 26 times for Birmingham City, before joining Sunderland in July 2023.

While at Sunderland, he played 90 times in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and adding four assists.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, he can also operate further forward when required.

Like his brother, Jobe is known for his skill on the ball, range of passing and excellent vision.
