Chelsea fans are convinced Cole Palmer is about to have his best ever season in a Blues shirt amid rumours that he’s split up with his girlfriend.
Cole Palmer Reportedly Splits With Girlfriend
Fresh off the back of winning the Club World Cup out in the United States, rumours are circulating that Cole Palmer has split up with his girlfriend, Connie Grace.
Palmer and Grace have unfollowed each other on Instagram and have removed all photos of one another from their respective accounts, fuelling rumours regarding their relationship status.
It follows on from Grace and Palmer’s sister, Haile, unfollowing each other on the app a couple of weeks prior. The Manchester-based manicurist and influencer has also unfollowed another three members of the Chelsea star’s family, including his personal trainer and cousin.
Despite the rumoured split, Grace did fly out to the U.S. during the Club World Cup. She was nowhere to be seen during the trophy celebrations however, with Palmer registering two goals and an assist in the 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
The 23-year-old admitted that he’d endured a ‘difficult time’ both ‘on and off the pitch’ over the last few months after scoring in the quarter-final win over Palmeiras at the start of the month.
Palmer celebrated his goal by running straight to Tosin Adarabioyo on the bench. He explained the meaning behind the celebration in his post-match interview at the Lincoln Financial Field.
“That’s my boy. Obviously, I’ve had a difficult time these past whatever months on and off the pitch, but he’s always been there for me and he’s helped me a lot. So, yeah, I just thought I’d go over to him.”
Glam Set & Match report that the pair were together for around three years, having first met when they were both 17, and debuted as a couple at the GQ Men of the Year awards last year.
Chelsea Fans Convinced Palmer Is Set For ‘Best Season Yet’
Off the back of the rumoured breakup, some Chelsea fans believe Palmer is about to have his ‘best season yet’.
It comes amid a trend in which footballers seemingly enjoy an upturn in form after splitting from their partner. Examples include Alphonso Davies, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lamine Yamal and more.
Last term, Palmer totalled 18 goals and 14 assists in 52 matches across all competitions for the Blues, as they lifted the Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League titles.
He had an even better campaign in 2023/24, registering 27 goals and 15 assists in 48 matches. Chelsea fans are hoping that his split from Grace will help reignite these levels of form.
Ahead of his return to London for pre-season, Palmer is enjoying some downtime in St. Kitts and Nevis. The England international was given a hero’s welcome upon his arrival in his ancestral homeland and even met with the country’s Prime Minister.
He is due back in West London at the start of August, as Chelsea face off against Erik ten Hag’s Bayer Leverkusen and Serie A giants AC Milan in their two pre-season outings.
