Former heavyweight king Joseph Parker has called out undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk with a hilarious video. The New Zealander is miming A-Ha’s 1985 hit ‘Take On Me’ as he challenges the Ukrainian to face him next.
Joseph Parker Calls Out Oleksandr Usyk With Hilarious Video
Joseph Parker, who boasts a decorated 36-3 boxing record with 24 KOs, is undoubtedly one of the most popular fighters in world boxing right now. The New Zealander is a firm fan-favourite, particularly in his home country as well as being extremely popular in the UK and Ireland too.
The former WBO World Heavyweight Champion isn’t one for badmouthing fellow fighters or calling them out with abusive interviews or messages. It’s fair to say that Parker has his own style when it comes to calling out fellow heavyweights.
Parker’s latest call-out is aimed at unified world heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk. This comes after Usyk became undisputed king again, knocking Daniel Dubois out in five rounds at Wembley Stadium on July 19. Now, Parker has called to be the opponent for Oleksandr Usyk’s next fight.
As the WBO World Heavyweight Title mandatory challenger and top contender, Parker is now chasing a fight with ‘The Cat’ once and for all, looking to become a two-time world heavyweight champion.
In his latest call-out, the New Zealander can be seen miming A-Ha’s 1985 ‘Take On Me’ with some family and friends. Throughout the video there are various snippets of Parker and Usyk, including their face-off in the ring after Usyk’s five round demolition on Dubois last month.
During the COVID-19 pandemic and on a few other occasions, Parker, who has five children with long-term partner Laine Tavita, was regularly brightening people’s days with some incredible sketches and funny videos on social media.
This one is one of his finest, with some boxing fans even labelling it the best call-out they have ever seen. Whether or not this unique call-out of Oleksandr Usyk tempts the Ukrainian into a fight or not remains to be seen, but it’s certainly one that has gone viral.

Joseph Parker Mimes A-Ha’s ‘Take On Me’ In Unique Call-Out Of Undisputed Heavyweight Champion
Joseph Parker’s latest music video on social media is certainly some of his best work. Using A-Ha’s 1985 classic ‘Take On Me’ and directing it at Oleksandr Usyk is a quite remarkable way to call-out a heavyweight rival.
The 33-year-old most definitely deserves his shot at world honours as he aims to become world heavyweight champion for the second time. Parker knocked Martin Bakole out on the Beterbiev vs Bivol 2 undercard in Riyadh back in February, and has been chasing his shot at world honours ever since.
Joseph Parker’s next fight simply has to be against Usyk. He has more than earned his shot at the Ukrainian, with ‘The Cat’ also running out of opponents to face. Parker and Agit Kabayel are the only two top heavyweight Usyk is yet to beat yet, so the Parker fight makes total sense.
This hilarious call-out video of Usyk whilst miming A-Ha’s popular single, which reached number two in the official UK singles chart, is typical of the Kiwi. He has a brilliant sense of humour and is one of the most likeable boxers in the world.
Fingers crossed this call-out method works for the former world heavyweight king and he is granted his wish with a shot at Oleksandr Usyk in the not so distant future.
This isn’t the first time he has called Usyk out either of course. Parker previously made a video miming Shania Twain’s ‘You’re Still The One’, but it didn’t quite tempt the Ukrainian into a fight with the New Zealander.
However, this time Parker simply cannot be denied. Expect Usyk vs Parker to get made for the back end of the year or early in 2026.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Joseph Parker Odds
If a fight between Joseph Parker and Oleksandr Usyk, whose net worth has hit £45m, does materialise thanks to his amazing call-out, the bout could get signed for the back end of the year.
His Excellency Turki Alalshikh is likely to stage a huge card in Riyadh before Christmas, and Usyk vs Parker would certainly be a great headliner.
If the fight does get made, boxing betting sites would undoubtedly have Parker as a fairly big underdog. Although he is in great form and could be one of the best heavyweights in the world, Usyk is on a whole different level.
Nobody has even come close to beating the great Ukrainian yet. Although Parker himself would fancy the challenge and would certainly have his backers, it would be ‘The Cat’ who is listed as a firm favourite.
However, write the New Zealand heavyweight boxing star off at your peril. Fingers crossed the fight gets made next and we see Parker finally get his shot at the undisputed world heavyweight king!
