New Zealand Darts Masters Betting Tips 🎯
- Best Bet: Stephen Bunting to WIN @ 12/1
- E/W Bet: Josh Rock @ 6/1
- Luke Littler to NOT make the Final @ TBC
The New Zealand Darts Masters is almost upon us as the Spark Arena in Auckland hosts the seventh and penultimate World Series of Darts event of the year this weekend.
It was Luke Littler who triumphed last week in Australia as the outright favourite with UK betting apps, and he is in action once again this week looking to record back-to-back wins in the World Series.
World number one Luke Humphries reigned supreme in Kiwiland 12 months ago, looking to retain his title in Auckland this weekend.
‘Coolhand’ looks to go back-to-back at the New Zealand Masters, but here at SportsCasting we feel one of Humphries’ fellow countrymen could be the one to beat at the Spark Arena.
Stephen Bunting To Win @ 12/1
Stephen Bunting comes into the 2025 New Zealand Darts Masters as one of the form players and top picks for success in Auckland this week.
The Englishman was defeated in Australia last week at the semi-final stage by eventual winner Luke Littler. Littler beat ‘The Bullet’ 7-4, despite Bunting averaging 102+ – some four points higher than ‘The Nuke’.
Bunting can count himself unlucky that he didn’t at least make the final down under last week, and will be looking to go one better this week.
The 40-year-old currently leads the World Series standings after six tournaments and is the no.1 seed here. He of course won the Bahrain Masters and Nordic Masters on the World Series, as well as reaching the final in Poland and the Netherlands.
As the third most followed darts players in the world, Bunting would be a popular winner in Auckland if he were to secure victory on Saturday.
He is one of the most in-form players on the oche right now and could be the man to beat at the 2025 New Zealand Masters.
Stephen Bunting is our outright New Zealand Darts Masters betting tip at odds of 8/1 to further solidify his place as the World Series of Darts no.1 seed.
Josh Rock E/W @ 6/1
Another player that catches the eye ahead of the 2025 New Zealand Darts Masters is Josh Rock. The Northern Irishman reached the semi-final of the World Matchplay last month before losing out to Luke Littler, but threw some quality darts throughout the tournament.
He whitewashed Simon Whitlock 6-0 in his Round 1 match at the Australian Masters last week, but was then whitewashed himself by Stephen Bunting in the quarter-finals, despite averaging more than ‘The Bullet’.
On his day, Rock has shown that he is capable of beating any player. He is on the opposite side of the draw to Bunting this time, but could face Littler in the semi-finals. If he does, we feel he could get revenge from their last meeting at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
He is also a big fan of a 170-checkout, so it could be worth keeping an eye out on odds for Rock to reel in the ‘big fish’. Or perhaps the 24-year-old could even nine-darter? He has done it plenty of times before, so time will tell!
Priced as the fourth favourite at odds of 6/1, ‘Rocky’ could be a strong choice for success this week in Auckland.
Luke Littler To Not Make The Final (Odds TBC)
Although our outright New Zealand Masters betting tip is for Stephen Bunting to win the entire event, another bet we like the look of is for pre-tournament favourite and reigning world champion Luke Littler to not make the final.
If ‘The Nuke’ is anywhere near his best, he could totally blitz the field of course. He did this last week in Wollongong, despite only scraping through his first round match with Haupai Puha.
However, this week he could face fellow Target star Josh Rock in the semi-final if both win their opening two games, as we feel the Northern Irishman could get the better of the 18-year-old this time.
If Rock crashes out earlier, then Littler could face Gerwyn Price in the final four. The Welshman has an outstanding record against Littler, and if this match-up happens we are backing ‘The Iceman’ to win it.
Although he is priced as short as 6/4 pre-tournament, backing Rock or Price to beat Littler if the pair meet in the semis could present fantastic value. Be sure to keep an eye out when odds are officially released on this.
New Zealand Darts Masters Preview
The majority of darts fans will feel the New Zealand Masters is Luke Littler’s to lose. If he is on song and performs to anywhere near his A-game, he wins. Simple.
‘The Nuke’ showed last week in Australia that he can still dominate tournaments, even when he’s not in full flow. That is a scary thought for the rest of the PDC, so who could stop him this week?
There are a few players who will back themselves to beat Littler if they face him in Kiwiland, with some seeking revenge from their last encounters too.
Stephen Bunting will feel hard done by that his 102+ average wasn’t enough to beat Littler last week down under, with Josh Rock desperate to also get revenge on Littler from their epic World Matchplay semi-final last month.
The New Zealand Darts Masters 2025 field is full of tungsten talent this week, so lets home someone lands the perfect nine-dart finish in Auckland and sends the Spark Arena into hysteria!
