With the Eberechi Eze transfer to Arsenal sorted – many Gunners fans will now be wondering if the former Palace man can play in their Premier League game against Leeds at the weekend.
Arsenal Hijack Eze Spurs Deal In Bid To Replace Injured Havertz
Spurs fans might have hoped ex-Palace star Eberechi Eze would be in their team to face Manchester City on the Saturday lunchtime Premier League clash this weekend.
However, the North London club had their Eberechi Eze transfer hijacked – as their bitter rivals Arsenal swooped in late to nab the deal.
As a result of Spurs stalling, Eze has now signed for the Gunners in a deal reported to be worth £60m (plus £7.5m add-ons).
With QPR having a Eze sell-on bonus reported to earn the Championship side up to £7m.
Arsenal acted quickly after their striker Kai Havertz picked up a knee injury that is expected to keep the German out for a while.
And the move now sees Eze return to Arsenal 14 years after he was released by them as a youngster.
Eze also missed Palace’s Europa Conference League play-off game on Thursday night against Fredrikstad, that the Eagles won 1-0.
But will the deal get over the line in time for Eze to make his Arsenal debut on Saturday?

Can Eberechi Eze Play For Arsenal Against Leeds On Saturday?
This week’s deal will now pave the way for Eze to get sized-up for a new Gunners shirt – but will the transfer and medical be done-and-dusted in time for the England man to face Leeds on Saturday?
The Eze Arsenal medical is set to take place on Friday (22nd Aug).
But the Premier League rules state that any new signings must be registered with the league by 12pm on the working day before a fixture.
All this means Eze’s forms and registration with the Gunners will need be be settled by Friday 22nd August at midday if they want him to figure against Leeds on Saturday.
Arsenal will be racing to get this sorted in time.
But with time tight, it’s looking more likely that Eze’s first Arsenal game will be away to Liverpool on Sunday 31st August.
Eze Expected To Take Arsenal Number 10 Shirt
There are also rumours Eze could get the Arsenal number 10 shirt. This was previously owned by Emile Smith Rowe, but he’s since left for Fulham in 2024 and it has been vacant since.
Arsenal face Leeds at home in the Premier League 5:30pm offering – with the football betting sites making the Gunners red-hot favourites at 2/7 to win.
Newly-promoted Leeds got off to a winning start in their opening game – beating Everton 1-0 at home.
While Leeds last travelled to the Emirates in 2023 and were on the receiving end of a 4-1 thumping by the Gunners.
The Whites will be hoping for better on Saturday and probably also hoping new Arsenal transfer Eberechi Eze doesn’t complete his paperwork in time.
