Fabian Edwards became the new PFL Middleweight Tournament Champion after replicating brother Leon’s chilling head-kick knockout to secure £375,000 jackpot.
Edwards won the 2025 PFL Middleweight Tournament with a perfectly timed head-kick knockout of Dalton Rosta in the third round.
Fabian Edwards Wins PFL Middleweight Tournament With Chilling Head-Kick KO
Fabian Edwards replicated his brother Leon Edwards’ chilling head-kick knockout to win the PFL Middleweight Tournament.
The Englishman fought Dalton Rosta in the PFL middleweight final, knocking the American out with a perfectly timed head-kick with his left leg in the third round.
As well as winning the PFL Middleweight Tournament, Fabian also secured the $500,000 (£375,000) jackpot for coming out on top at 185-pounds in the Professional Fighters League.
Edwards was the marginal pre-fight favourite with UFC betting sites to beat Rosta, which he did in the most dramatic of fashion on Round 3 of their PFL Middleweight Tournament Final.
The British MMA fighter began to get on top of his opponent in the third round, after a fairly competitive opening two stanzas. Edwards was making his size tell before detonating a perfectly timed head-kick to send Rosta wilting to the canvas.
The American crashed the the ground practically motionless, with the referee jumping in straight away to wave the fight off. It’s fair to say that Edwards’ knockout sent shockwaves across the MMA world, in what was a deal Deja vu moment for Leon Edwards’ brother.

Leon Edwards’ Brother Fabian Replicates Head-Kick Knockout
Fabian Edwards’ chilling head-kick knockout was a frightening Deja vu moment for MMA fans, who witnessed the exact same thing almost exactly three years ago to the day by Fabian’s brother Leon.
On August 20, 2022, ‘Rocky’ shocked the MMA world as he landed a head-kick on Kamaru Usman, who tumbled straight to the canvas motionless.
In what is widely regarded as one of the most perfectly timed kicks and chilling moments in UFC history, Edwards became UFC Welterweight Champion at UFC 278 with his final round knockout of the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’.
Fast forward almost exactly three years and Leon’s brother Fabian did exactly the same thing. On August 21, 2025, Fabian landed a perfectly timed head-kick with his left foot that sent Dalton Rosta straight to the deck.
Fabian’s kick bared frightening resemblance to his brother’s famous kick, with both now having unforgettable moments in the cage. Leon was cage side for his brother’s fight, with both celebrating wildly in the octagon immediately after.

After realising what his sibling had just done, ‘Rocky’ and Fabian reflected on the head-kick knockout in his post-fight interview:
“That is team head shot dead. That is crazy. God’s got a funny way of working. I’m so grateful.
“I said to my brother [Leon], he likes to paw, so I said to him I’m going to try that shot. I do that shot good in the gym and look, it worked beautifully,” said the new PFL Middleweight Tournament winner.
Fabian Edwards’ will likely face Costello van Steenis next for the full PFL Middleweight Title. Leon Edwards’ next fight on the other hand is yet to be confirmed, with ‘Rocky’ looking to get back to winning ways following consecutive defeats in the UFC.
