Newcastle host Liverpool on Monday night in what many expect to be a heated encounter, and we’re providing the latest team news and predicted lineups ahead of the action.
Defending Premier League champions Liverpool left it late to beat Bournemouth on the opening weekend.
Having taken a 2-0 lead early in the second half, they conceded twice to allow the visitors to draw level.
But further goals from Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah ensured Arne Slot’s side took all three points.
Newcastle, meanwhile, were held to a goalless draw against Aston Villa.
Ahead of Monday’s fixture, Liverpool are 1/1 favourites with UK betting sites.
Newcastle are priced at around 12/5, but will be no pushovers on home turf.
The Newcastle vs Liverpool stats also tell us the sides last met in the EFL Cup, that the Magpies won. But Liverpool are 17 league games unbeaten vs Newcastle.
But before the action gets underway, we at SportsCasting have the latest team news and predicted lineups, including any injury updates.
Newcastle Vs Liverpool Team News and Predicted Lineups
Newcastle Team News
The most glaring omission for Newcastle will be that of Liverpool transfer target Alexander Isak.
Swedish striker Isak has made clear his desire to move to Anfield.
But after a bid worth £110 million was rejected, Isak has been training away from the wider squad and is confirmed not to be involved on Monday.
Newcastle fans have applauded the club’s stance on Isak, supporting the Magpies’ hardline approach to the debacle.
In better news, Newcastle have completed the signing of Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa.
There are also no fresh injury concerns for Eddie Howe, and Joe Willock has returned to training.
Although unlikely to start, he should be fit enough for the bench at least.

Liverpool Team News
As for Liverpool, they do have a few unavailabilities to contend with.
New arrival Jeremie Frimpong went off with a hamstring tweak last weekend.
The Dutch fullback is confirmed to be missing for this one.
However, both Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez are back in training, and could slot in.
But with Limited minutes, Arne Slot has acknowledged it would be asking a lot, meaning he may prefer to play Waturo Endo out of position at fullback.

Regarding the right-back dilemma, he said: “So, there are other options we can explore.
“Joe Gomez is definitely one of them, but for him to play already 20 minutes, that was already quite a lot.
“I wouldn’t say he had a setback but he wasn’t able to train three days in a row completely with the team.
“Which is completely normal if you’re out for so long and all of a sudden the manager needs you for 20 minutes.”
“But he is training with the team, so let’s see where he is on Monday, if he can be involved in the team or if he can even start.”
Liverpool Predicted Lineup (4-3-3):
