Premier League clubs spent nearly £350 million on deadline day of the 2025/26 summer transfer window, sending the total spending beyond the £3 billion mark.
English champions Liverpool contributed the most to the total, spending a record £446.5 million until 7:00 PM BST on September 1, 2025.
Alexander Isak became their latest addition, as he joined on deadline day for a British record fee of £125 million.

Premier League Clubs Spent £3.17 Billion in Summer Transfer Window
The 2025/26 summer transfer window was massive for Premier League clubs. They spent a record-shattering £3.17 billion on new players, cruising past the record of £2.5 billion set in the 2023/24 season.
The transfer window also saw English clubs earn a record £1.8 billion from sales, breaking the 2024/25 record of £1.5 billion. While Liverpool set the record for most spending with £446.5 million, Chelsea earned a league-topping £314 million from selling their assets. The Blues spent £296 million on new players this summer, meaning they finished the season with a net spend of -£18 million.

Arsenal, meanwhile, had the highest net spending in the Premier League. The Gunners spent £267 million on reinforcements and earned only £10 million from sales, finishing with a £257 million net spend.

Liverpool broke the British transfer record twice over the course of the 2025/26 summer transfer window.
They first signed Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for £116.6 million before breaking that record with a £125 million deal for Alexander Isak. Wirtz is still finding his feet in the Premier League. After a couple of underwhelming performances, he saw his FPL price drop ahead of Gameweek 3.
