Liverpool Star Virgil van Dijk Rises In Latest FPL Price Changes For Gameweek 5

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is a riser, and Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins is a faller in the latest FPL price changes for Gameweek 5.

The Premier League returns for Gameweek 5 with the latest instalment of the Merseyside derby on Saturday afternoon, and there are several key players among the risers and fallers in the latest FPL price changes ahead of the action.

Other standout fixtures in the fifth round of the campaign include Brighton vs Tottenham, Manchester United vs Chelsea, Bournemouth vs Newcastle and Arsenal vs Manchester City.

Rising in price after helping maintain Liverpool’s perfect start to the campaign with a 1-0 win over Burnley in Gameweek 4 is Reds skipper Virgil van Dijk, now priced at £6.1m.

The Dutchman accumulated eight points for a second consecutive gameweek, as Mohamed Salah’s injury-time penalty sealed all three points for Arne Slot’s side at Turf Moor on Sunday.

Liverpool are 6/5 favourites with football betting sites to lift the trophy at the end of the season, ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Man City, as they sit three points clear at the summit.

Also among the risers are Joao Pedro (£7.8m), Alexander Isak (£10.5m), Erling Haaland (£14.2m), Jack Grealish (£6.8m), Jurrien Timber (£5.7m), Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth), Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.6m) and Marc Guehi (£4.7m).

Elsewhere, Haaland, who is among the best forwards to buy in FPL for 2025-26, is the third-most transferred-in player after netting twice in City’s 3-0 win over Manchester United.
