Forwards play a crucial role in rounding out your precious Fantasy Premier League (FPL) squad. If you are not sure which forward is the best for you, check out SportsCasting’s detailed guide below.

Forwards in FPL 2025/26 are priced between £4.5 million and £14.0 million.

Like last season, Erling Haaland is the most expensive forward in FPL, carrying a price tag of £14.0 million. However, after failing to live up to his lofty standards in 2024/25, the Norwegian has seen a £1 million price cut.

After exploring the most popular affordable goalkeepers, top defenders to bolster your squad, and the best midfielders for your FPL team, SportsCasting is scouring the market for the finest forwards. Read on for all the details.

Man City goalmachine Erling Haaland, Newcastle United star Alexander Isak, Arsenal newcomer Viktor Gyokeres, and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins are some of the biggest names in the Premier League. Interestingly, none of them is the most selected forward in FPL this season.

Best Premium Forwards in FPL 2025/26

There is a lack of quality attacking options in FPL this season. With some big names reclassified and managers opting for more fluid systems, there are only a handful of nailed-on options.

Let us start with the top options in the premium category, listing the top three players between £9.0 million and £14.0 million.

#1 Erling Haaland – Man City – £14.0 Million

Coming in at £14.0 million, Erling Haaland is by far the most expensive forward in FPL 2025/26. However, despite his steep price tag, he remains one of the most sensible picks in Fantasy football.

Haaland has a track record of starting the season on a high. Even last season, which was statistically his worst in the Premier League, he scored 10 goals in his first Premier League games. The Norwegian scored back-to-back hat-tricks on Matchdays 2 and 3.

So, if you have money to spare, Haaland, who is 6/4 to win the Golden Boot with football betting sites, promises to be an excellent investment.

#2 Jarrod Bowen – West Ham – £8.0 Million

Jarrod Bowen pretty much makes West Ham tick in the final third. He can glide past defenders, create goalscoring opportunities, and does not hesitate to go for the spectacular when an opportunity presents itself. Whenever West Ham create an opportunity, there is a good chance that Bowen is involved.

Last season, Bowen secured 193 points in FPL, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists. Considering his affordable price tag and the quality he brings, Bowen seems like the perfect premium forward pick in FPL this season.

To top it off, the money you save by signing Bowen could be better utilised elsewhere. The defence is often severely overlooked, but with defensive contributions being introduced, you ought to bolster your squad with the best defenders to beat your opponents.

#3 Alexander Isak – Newcastle United  — £10.5 Million

Newcastle United marksman Alexander Isak enjoyed his finest Premier League campaign last term. He scored 23 goals in 34 Premier League matches, finishing as the league’s second-highest scorer behind Mohamed Salah.

The Swede also delivered career-best FPL returns in 2024/25, nicking 211 points. At £10.5 million, Isak is quite expensive, but he surely has what it takes to justify his price tag.

Betting sites suggest Isak to Liverpool is a done deal. While this move would give him access to a better-equipped creative unit, it could also rob him of the opportunity to be the team’s designated penalty taker.

Special Mention: Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal) – £9.0 Million

Viktor Gyokeres is clearly a crowd favourite. However, we did not keep him simply because of his lack of experience. If he settles in nicely at Arsenal, he would most definitely be worth a revisit.

Best Mid-Range Forwards in FPL 2025/26

#1 Jorgen Strand-Larsen – Wolves – £6.5 Million

A solid pick in attack, Jorgen Strand-Larsen delivered a decent return of 145 points in FPL last season. The 25-year-old forward played 35 Premier League games, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists.

At just £6.5 million, Strand-Larsen seems like an excellent pick. However, Matheus Cunha’s departure could take a toll on his output.

#2 Joao Pedro – Chelsea – £7.5 Million

Chelsea newcomer Joao Pedro has been the most-picked forward in FPL by far. The £7.5 million forward scored three goals in as many Club World Cup games and netted one goal each in two club friendlies.

Pedro seems like an exciting pick. However, with Liam Delap also in the mix, his minutes are not guaranteed.

#3 Danny Welbeck – Brighton & Hove Albion – £6.5 Million

Brighton & Hove Albion man Danny Welbeck exceeded expectations in the Premier League last season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 30 games. He is on penalty duty and should be able to replicate last season’s numbers.

Brighton do not have the easiest run of fixtures, but Welbeck is nailed on to start.

Special Mention: Yoanne Wissa (Brentford) – £7.5 Million

Yoanne Wissa has expressed his desire to leave Brentford this summer, with Newcastle United emerging as his most likely destination.

If the move materialises, he could be an excellent pick for the price.

Best Budget Forwards in FPL 2025/26

#1 Niclas Fullkrug – West Ham – £6.0 Million

In the £4.5–6 million range, there are only a few options that offer steady minutes, with Niclas Fullkrug being one of them. He is likely to operate as West Ham’s first-choice striker in the first few games. If he performs, he may be able to keep Callum Wilson at bay.

He has also demonstrated excellent pre-season form, scoring three goals in his last three matches.

#2 Marc Guiu – Sunderland – £4.5 Million

At just £4.5 million, Marc Guiu is the ultimate budget pick. He has joined Sunderland from Chelsea in search of minutes, and we are confident he will get his shot.

The 19-year-old is a good creator and a decent shooter, making him the best £4.5 million pick.

Selecting a low-cost option like Guiu gives you the flexibility to sign the best midfielders in FPL this season.

#3 Thierno Barry – Everton – £6.0 Million

After Beto struggled in the second part of the 2024/25 season, Thierno Barry has the chance to be Everton’s main man in front of goal.

He got the nod ahead of Beto in the friendly against Roma and produced a decent performance. If he secures the starting role for good, Barry could be an excellent value pick for the season.

Explanation

Despite his steep price tag, Erling Haaland has been our first-choice forward for the 2025/26 FPL season. The Norwegian is a ruthless goalscorer and comes to life in the first few matches. We simply cannot afford to miss out on his potentially explosive returns.

Jorgen Strand-Larsen enjoyed an excellent campaign in 2024/25 and offers tremendous value for just £6.5 million.

Lastly, we have Marc Guiu, who is easily the best bargain pick at £4.5 million. He may not get regular minutes, but the youngster has the quality to deliver excellent returns from time to time.
