Michael van Gerwen vs Michael Smith - World Darts Championship Final 2023 (1)

Players Championship 31 takes place in Wigan on Tuesday 14th October, with 128 players in action on the PDC ProTour.

With the full Players Championship 31 field officially announced, SportsCasting are on hand to provide Players Championship 31 betting tips as well as key information about prize money, latest odds and more.

Full Players Championship 31 Field Revealed

The full 128-player field has been confirmed for Players Championship 31 on Tuesday 14th October at Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan.

The field consists of all of the best players on the PDC circuit, as well as some relative unknowns and non-PDC Tour card holders too.

Some players with the highest averages in Players Championship darts history are in action, including recent World Grand Prix winner Luke Litter, Gary Anderson and Josh Rock to name but a few.

Predicting a winner of Players Championship 31 is incredibly difficult given the amount of players in action and the fact it is a non-TV event.

This usually means the lesser-known players fancy their chances against the big names far more. So often, huge outsiders win Players Championship events, which could well prove to be the case on Tuesday too at Players Championship 31.

The top 64 players in the PDC ProTour Order of Merit will qualify for the 2025 Players Championship Finals in November in Minehead, with some big names currently not in a qualifying spot.

Although he is dominating world darts right now, Littler is one of the notable absences from the Top 64 right now. As is three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen, Nathan Aspinall and Dimitri van den Bergh to name but a few.

He may be the most popular darts player in the world right now, but if ‘The Nuke’ doesn’t perform well in the four remaining Players Championship events, he might not make Minehead next month.

Regardless, Littler is in action at Players Championship 31 and heads the field of 128 players competing in Wigan on Tuesday.

Players Championship 31 Betting Tips

Our World Grand Prix betting tips might not have yielded a winner last week with Gerwyn Price our selection for success in Leicester.

He was beaten in the quarter-final by eventual winner Luke Littler, who Price probably should have beaten. That fills us with confidence for this week, with a lot of players coming to Wigan in decent form.

Some players are fighting for their spot in the Players Championship Finals with just four PDC ProTour events before then. Littler is one of those, who will need to play well this week and next if he is to make it to the Finals, as is Michael van Gerwen.

With 128 players in action and this being a non-TV event, plenty of lesser players will fancy their chances of success at Robin Park Leisure Centre for Players Championship 31.

Below we have selected four names at differing prices who we think could be in with a chance of winning Players Championship 31 come the end of the day. They are as follows:

  • Josh Rock @ 14/1
  • Gian van Veen @ 16/1
  • Ryan Searle @ 33/1
  • Scott Williams @ 125/1
