Several matches across Europe’s top football leagues are set to be played on Friday night, and we’ve selected our best bets from the standout fixtures.
Leeds United vs West Ham headlines Friday night’s footballing action, with the Elland Road encounter set to play a major role in the fight for Premier League survival.
The Whites head into the tie occupying 16th place in the English top-flight table on eight points, while the struggling Hammers are four points behind in a lowly 19th place.
History shows that West Ham shouldn’t yet panic in their relegation battle, but defeat in West Yorkshire would deal a massive blow to their hopes of retaining top-flight status.
Also in action on Friday evening, Preston host struggling Sheffield United in the Championship.
Additionally, there are several matches being played across Europe’s top five leagues: AC Milan vs Pisa, Real Sociedad vs Sevilla, Werder Bremen vs Union Berlin and Paris vs Nantes.
Read on as we unveil our best bets for five of Friday night’s standout football fixtures.
Friday Night Football Best Bets
Leeds vs West Ham Betting Tip (Premier League)
First off, we’ve selected Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and West Ham talisman Jarrod Bowen to each register at least one shot on target during their Elland Road clash.
The pair are almost guaranteed to start for their respective sides, with the former starting in each of his side’s last five league matches, while the latter has started in his side’s last eight.
Calvert-Lewin is averaging 1.2 SOTs per game this term, and Bowen is averaging 1.0.
We expect an end-to-end encounter, and with opportunities likely to come the way of both sides, Calvert-Lewin and Bowen are almost certain to be involved in front of goal.
Best Bet: Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jarrod Bowen 1+ Shots on Target each @ 21/20
Preston vs Sheffield United Betting Tip (Championship)
Our next pick is for Preston and Sheffield United to play out a draw in the Championship.
The hosts, currently sitting in 11th place in the table, have enjoyed a decent start to the season. They have slightly weaned off in recent weeks though, having suffered two successive losses.
As for the Blades, they lost each of their opening eight competitive matches of the campaign but are seemingly starting to find their feet. Chris Wilder’s side have won each of their last two.
There looks to be very little to separate the pair based on recent form.
Best Bet: Draw @ 21/10
AC Milan vs Pisa Betting Tip (Serie A)
Next up, we’ve gone for AC Milan to win both halves of their Serie A clash against Pisa.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side are currently top of the Italian top-flight table with a record of five wins, one draw and one loss, while Friday’s visitors are rock bottom without a win to their name.
This undoubtedly points towards a comfortable win for the hosts, who extended their unbeaten record to seven straight matches in all competitions with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina on Sunday.
We simply cannot envisage Pisa causing Milan any problems at the San Siro on Friday.
Best Bet: AC Milan to Win Both Halves @ 7/4
Real Sociedad vs Sevilla Betting Tip (LaLiga)
Friday’s sole LaLiga fixture sees struggling Real Sociedad host Sevilla at 20:00.
The White and Blues head into the tie sitting in the relegation zone, having recorded just one win and accumulated just six points from their opening nine league games this season.
Matias Almeyda’s Sevilla, meanwhile, are seven points ahead of them in ninth place and have suffered just two defeats across their last seven games in the Spanish top-flight.
During this run, they claimed an impressive 4-1 win over reigning champions Barcelona.
With form favouring the visitors, we’re backing them to prevail at Reale Arena at 29/10.
Recent history favours the Andalusia outfit as well, as they have come out on top in two of their last three head-to-head meetings against Real Sociedad, including a 1-0 win last time out.
Best Bet: Sevilla to Win @ 29/10
Werder Bremen vs Union Berlin Betting Tip (Bundesliga)
Finally, we’ve selected Belgian youngster Samuel Mbangula to score or assist as his Werder Bremen side face off against Union Berlin in Friday’s sole Bundesliga fixture.
The 21-year-old has started the season strongly, registering two goals and an assist in his opening six league matches. He also provided an assist for Belgium’s U21 side earlier this month.
Set to feature on the left-hand side of Bremen’s attack against a Union side that have won just two of their last six league outings, Mbangula is primed for a goal involvement at Weserstadion.
Best Bet: Samuel Mbangula to Score or Assist @ 7/4
