We’ve picked our Premier League Team of the Weekend after another scintillating round of top-flight action in gameweek nine.
Almost ten games into the new season and there are some big stories emerging.
Liverpool flew out of the blocks before falling to a string of defeats.
A resurgent Manchester United finally look to be clicking under Ruben Amorim.
All three promoted sides are performing well beyond expectation.
And can anyone stop Arsenal?
With so much to talk about from the weekend, it was difficult to narrow down our choices for this week’s top 11 stars.
But below is the SportsCasting Premier League Team of the Weekend.

Premier League Team Of The Weekend
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope – Newcastle United
With plenty of goals scored, it wasn’t easy to pick out a keeper that performed especially well.

But Newcastle’s Nick Pope had a big role in his side’s 2-1 victory over Fulham.
The England shot-stopped produced four saves and commanded his box excellently throughout.
Defence
Matty Cash – Aston Villa
Our defence starts with match-winner Matty Cash.
The Aston Villa right-back popped up with a crucial goal to sink Manchester City at Villa Park, and maintain his side’s five-game unbeaten league run.
Kevin Danso – Tottenham
At a glance, a 3-0 win for Spurs suggests an easy day for their defenders – but that is far from the full story.
Kevin Danso was rock-solid at the back, making a stunning 18 clearances and winning all six duels in an incredible rearguard display on Merseyside.
Micky Van de Ven – Tottenham
Partnering Danso in the Tottenham back-line, Micky Van de Ven scored two headers to back a brace and send Spurs on their way to victory.

It was a vintage performance from both Spurs central defenders, who have earned their place in our Team of the Week.
Quilindschy Hartman – Burnley
And completing our back four, Burnley’s Quilindschy Hartman was another standout performer.
The Dutchman provided two assists as his side won 3-2 at bottom club Wolves to move further away from danger.
Midfield
Marcus Tavernier – Bournemouth
Moving into midfield, we start with Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier.
With a goal and four shots in the Cherries’ 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, Tavernier was his side’s most potent attacker, and a constant thorn in the side of Forest’s defence.
Casemiro – Manchester United
Having contributed goal and an assist in the same game – albeit with a lot of luck for his deflected effort – it felt impossible to leave out Casemiro.
The veteran Brazilian helped control midfield and looked every bit as assured as a man of his experience should do.
Eberechi Eze – Arsenal
Netting the winner against his former club, Eberechi Eze proved exactly why Arsenal signed him from Crystal Palace in the summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side delivered another statement win that keeps them top of the Premier League power rankings.
You get the feeling that Eze will play a massive role in Arsenal’s title challenge, and performances like that will do the Gunners no harm.
Attack
Bryan Mbeumo – Manchester United
In attack, Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo was a whisker away from scoring his first hat-trick for the club.

Although denied by the woodwork, he still bagged a brace to help his side beat Brighton and move within two points of second place.
Mbeumo is one of the biggest FPL price risers ahead of gameweek 10, showing how good his form has been lately.
Zian Flemming – Burnley
The man on the other end of Burnley teammate Hartman’s two assists, Zian Flemming took both his goals brilliantly.
A superb volley and a clinical second earned the Clarets victory, and Flemming a place in our Premier League Team of the Week.
Wilson Isidor – Sunderland
And last but not least, Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor continues to impress.
The Frenchman levelled for the Black Cats at Stamford Bridge with his fourth of the season to kickstart Sunderland’s comeback victory.
And with Chemsdine Talbi’s 93rd-minute winner, they remain in the top four after nine games.
That rounds off our SportsCasting Premier League Team of the Weekend for gameweek nine.
