Harry Kane set an unwanted personal record in Bayern Munich’s Champions League defeat by Arsenal – failing to register a single shot.

Kane failed to register a single shot against the Gunners, which was just the first time in his career the England captain has failed to have a single shot in 90 minutes against Arsenal.

Harry Kane Sets Unwanted Personal Record Against Arsenal

Bayern Munich talisman Harry Kane set an unwanted personal record as the German champions were beaten 3-1 by Arsenal in GW5 of the Champions League league phase.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has played 115 games since making the switch to Bayern, scoring an incredible 109 goals in the process.

Kane has helped the Bundesliga win over the neutrals since his move from the Premier League to Germany’s top flight. His impressive goal record has also made Vincent Kompany’s side a threat in Europe as well as dominant domestically.

That being said, Kane and co were unable to derail Mikel Arteta’s impressive Gunners, who made it five wins from five in the Champions League league phase.

Not only did Kane fail to score against Arsenal in Bayern’s 3-1 Champions League defeat on Wednesday night, but he failed to register a single shot in the game.

Kane played the full 90 minutes at the Emirates, enduring a frustrating evening as he was marshalled superbly by William Saliba and Cristhian Mosquera.

The Arsenal centre-back partnership kept the 32-year-old at bay, frustrating a player who has made a career out of scoring goals in big games.

This marked just the third time since joining Bayern that the England skipper completed 90 minutes without registering a single effort on goal.

Add to that Wednesday night was just the first time in 22 career appearances against the Gunners that Kane failed to have even one shot.

Harry Kane Goes Missing In Champions League Defeat

With Harry Kane setting an unwanted personal record of no shots in a 90 minute match, his muted presence reflected Bayern Munich’s broader attacking struggles, particularly in the second half.

After a fairly even first 45 minutes, the German champions were mere passengers for large spells after the interval. Arsenal found the net twice in the second half to secure three points and a statement win over their fellow European hopefuls.

Arsenal are outright favourites in the latest Champions League winner betting odds. It’s clear to see why after their outstanding victory over Vincent Kompany’s side on Wednesday night.

Kane’s out-of-sorts performance against his former north London rivals epitomises Arsenal’s dominance, limiting arguably the best striker in the world to not a single shot across a full 90 minutes.

This has highlighted some questions around the England captain, who went missing in arguably Bayern’s biggest game of the season.
