West Ham bosses could be ready to cut their losses on Lucas Paqueta with suggestions they will attempt to offload the Brazilian during the January transfer window.
West Ham Ready To Sell Lucas Paqueta
Lucas Paqueta may finally be set to depart West Ham during the January transfer window.
It comes amid suggestions that Hammers chiefs are ready to cut their losses on the Brazilian off the back of his ill-tempered red card during the 2-0 defeat by Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
He was shown two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent in the 83rd and 84th minutes.

Paqueta will miss one game through suspension due to his dismissal. However, the midfielder has risked a further ban by lashing out at the Football Association (FA) on social media.
Posted on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “It’s ridiculous to have your life and career affected for two years without any psychological support from the federation.
“Perhaps this ridiculous behavior is just a reflection of everything I’ve had to endure and, it seems, have to continue enduring! I’m sorry if I’m not perfect.”
Of course, this is in reference to the near two-year investigation into Paqueta following allegations that he’d been getting booked deliberately to affect the betting market.
The 28-year-old was cleared of spot-fixing charges by an independent regulatory commission in July. Had he been found guilty, he would have faced the prospect of a lifetime ban.
Despite that saga now being behind him, Paqueta continues to be embroiled in drama, with his red card against the Reds being the latest in a long list of incidents since arriving in England.
Hammers bosses have now seemingly had enough and are ready to part ways in January.
Saudi Arabia Move Likely For Paqueta
Paqueta has long been linked with high-profile transfers away from West Ham, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham all previously being linked with moves.
City came closest to signing him back in 2023. They reportedly agreed on a fee in the region of £80m for the former Lyon star but pulled the plug due to his alleged betting breaches.
Two years on, they are unlikely to fetch such a large fee for his sale.
His current contract runs until the summer of 2027, with the club holding an option to extend for another year, and reports suggest the East Londoners may demand £50m for his services.
According to the latest Paqueta next club betting odds, a move to the Middle East to join the up-and-coming Saudi Pro League is the most likely scenario for the Brazil international.
Clubs in the league undoubtedly have the resources and financial backing to complete the move, making it a realistic destination for the attacking midfielder this winter.
A return to Ligue 1 is also possible, with Marseille following as the second favourites.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side have a history of signing controversial characters, namely Mason Greenwood, therefore they would likely have no qualms in taking a punt on Paqueta.
Napoli, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also among the leaders in the betting market.
