Premier League trio Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa are all eyeing a move for in-form Brentford striker Igor Thiago.
Monday Transfer Rumours Roundup
Brentford’s Igor Thiago Eyed By Premier League Trio
Brentford forward Igor Thiago is drawing interest from Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa.
The Brazilian has enjoyed a standout season under Keith Andrews in the Premier League this term, having netted 11 goals in 16 appearances for the Bees.
He is currently second in the league’s goalscoring charts, six goals behind leader Erling Haaland.
Thanks to his form, Thiago is nearing a record. He is now just four goals away from matching the all-time record for the most goals scored by a Brazilian in a single Premier League season.
CaughtOffside report that Thiago is also drawing interest from clubs in Serie A and LaLiga.
Brentford are said to value the former Club Brugge and Ludogorets striker at around £70m.
That figure, along with Thiago’s current contract tying him to the Gtech Community Stadium until 2029, makes a January move difficult, with a summer transfer much more likely.
Carlos Baleba Addresses Manchester United Links
Brighton star Carlos Baleba has addressed rumours linking him to Manchester United.
United made an approach for the £100m-rated midfielder last summer, and while a move was never finalised, Baleba admitted that he felt under pressure due to his mooted price tag.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t think it affected me negatively, but I had a lot of pressure on me.
“When I started this season, I wanted to show the same performances as last season.
“Every day I try to work hard and get back to my level. Did I put too much pressure on myself? Yes, I think so, but I think it’s good.
“It’s good for me, because now I have to get through this slightly stressful period, get back on the horse and continue working hard.”
United remain keen on Baleba, as revealed in last Wednesday’s transfer roundup.

Dusan Vlahovic Set To Join AC Milan From Juventus
Serbia international striker Dusan Vlahovic is set to swap Juventus for Serie A rivals AC Milan at the end of his contract next summer, according to reports from Spanish outlet Sport.
It comes amid the Rossoneri‘s search for a new forward, with Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez failing to impress under Massimiliano Allegri at the San Siro this term.
Allegri is said to have a strong relationship with Vlahovic from their time together at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, while it is well known that he is a huge fan of the 25-year-old.
Barcelona, meanwhile, have withdrawn their interest in the Partizan academy graduate.
Tottenham Strongly Consider Brennan Johnson Sale
Tottenham are reportedly considering cashing in on Brennan Johnson in January.
Spurs signed the Wales international from Nottingham Forest in 2023 for £47.5m.
He has amassed an impressive 27 goals and 18 assists in 105 appearances for the club and netted the winner against Manchester United in last season’s Europa League final.
Despite this, Johnson may depart this winter, with Crystal Palace reportedly eyeing the winger.
TEAMTalk have also revealed that a further two unnamed Premier League sides are interested.
Spurs value the 24-year-old at £50m, although they would likely sell for a slightly lower price.
Thus far this term, Johnson has managed four goals and no assists in 20 appearances.
It comes amid a poor spell for Thomas Frank’s side, who sit in 11th in the English top-flight table and have won just one of their last seven league matches.
As a result, Frank features as the fourth favourite in the latest Premier League sack race odds.
Oliver Glasner is favoured to replace the Dane in the next Tottenham manager odds market.
Roma Identify Spurs’ Mathys Tel As Striker Target
Also linked with an exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Mathys Tel.
Italian outlet Calciomercato claim that Roma are considering a move for the Frenchman as an alternative to Manchester United and Netherlands striker Joshua Zirkzee.
United are keen on keeping hold of Zirkzee until the summer, with key attackers Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo unavailable for the foreseeable future due to their involvement at AFCON.
The Serie A club are yet to have made contact with Spurs over a potential transfer.
They are also said to be keen on Fiorentina and Iceland forward Albert Gudmundsson.
