Financial trading platform eToro has announced a glut of sports sponsorship deals to kick-off the new year.

The global stocks and cryptocurrency specialists are to become official trading partners of Ligue 1 clubs Marseille, Monaco, OSC Lille and Lyon.

The collaboration with Lille will also see eToro act as sleeve sponsor for the club’s first-team shirt.

Switching gear from football to Formula 1, eToro has also announced a new partnership with the BWT Alpine F1 team.

French Clubs Flying High

All four of the teams partnering with eToro are presently sat among the top 10 in the Ligue 1 table.

Marseille and Monaco are competing in this season’s Champions League while Lyon are top of the Europa League standings after six games.

Lille are also fighting for a place in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Marseille feature former West Ham left-back Emerson as well as Manchester United outcast Mason Greenwood.

Monaco have just signed Leicester City’s Wout Faes on loan, with the defender aiming a subtle dig at boss Marti Cifuentes as he departed.

Building a Community

While eToro is not strictly a gambling platform, it does involve high-risk regulated trading in stocks and crypto.

A big feature, especially for beginners, is the community aspect where investors can follow the performance of others.

“At eToro, we’ve built a global investing community where users connect to share, learn and grow together,” said Valerie Kalifa, eToro’s Director of Marketing for France.

“Much like how football brings people together around a shared passion.

“Teaming up with Ligue 1 most prestigious clubs – Monaco, Lille, Marseille and Lyon – will help us enhance the sense of community and engagement central to both football and investing, offering French football fans more opportunities for financial education and growth.”

The collaboration with Formula 1 team BWT Alpine takes eToro onto the global stage.

A packed 2026 F1 calendar features 24 Grands Prix and six Sprint races worldwide.

Alpine debuted in F1 after taking over from Renault in 2021.

The coming season’s driver line-up features Pierre Gasly, a staunch PSG fan who is entering his 10th season in the sport.

He is partnered by Argentine Franco Colapinto who made his Alpine debut seven races into last season’s schedule.

“Formula 1 is driven by innovation and a relentless commitment to improvement,” said Yoni Assia, co-founder & CEO of eToro.

“That strongly aligns with eToro’s mission to equip our users with the financial tools and education they need to meet their evolving investing goals.

“Together, we look forward to creating inspiring content and experiences for fans worldwide.”
