Wolves boss Rob Edwards says wanted striker Jorgen Strand Larsen will be part of his squad this weekend despite speculation over his future.
The Norwegian international is heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace and Leeds United this month.
Reports claimed the Eagles had a £45million bid accepted by the rock-bottom club but have since stalled on his transfer.
Jorgen Strand Larsen Deal In Doubt
Ahead of Wolves’ clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, Edwards was quizzed on whether Strand Larsen was any closer to the Molineux exit door.
He responded: “It’s pretty clear, he’s trained, and he’ll be part of the squad tomorrow.
“He’s trained really well today, so that’s as much as I can say on it really at the moment.”
The revelation has cast doubt on Larsen’s imminent departure this month, with clubs baulking at the current asking price.
That is further evident with the reports suggesting Palace have since turned their attentions towards Aston Villa’s Evann Guessand.
Palace are closing in on a loan deal for the 24-year-old, which will also include an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
Strand Larsen’s future remains up in the air, but it could also be impacted by Jean-Philippe Mateta and his desire to leave Selhurst Park.
Numerous clubs have been linked with Mateta, including Aston Villa and Tottenham, but it appears AC Milan are the closest to sealing his signature.
If a move to Palace is out of the question, Strand Larsen could be left in limbo until the end of the season.
Edwards was further asked about Palace pulling out of the deal, in which he said: “That’s something for them, and obviously I’m working for Wolves, so I don’t know.”
Leeds United are another club who have been heavily linked, but they are refusing to meet Wolves’ £45m asking price, particularly knowing his value will decrease upon their impending relegation in the summer.
Jose Sa Linked With Nottingham Forest
Strand Larsen may not be the only high-profile player leaving Wolves this month, with keeper Jose Sa attracting interest from Nottingham Forest.
Sa has reemerged at Wolves No1 after initially losing his place to Sam Johnstone.
The 33-year-old still has 18 months left on his deal with Wolves while the club have an option for an extra year.
When Edwards was asked about his future, he responded: “Jose Sa trained for us and will be available for us as well tomorrow, so there’s not much to give on that one either at the moment.”
Edwards added: “There is a difference between wanting to (sell) and needing to (sell), so we’ve got to try and work out what the right thing is for the football club, for those individuals, but for us to try and improve as well going forward. We take all that into account.”
