Former world champion boxer Amir Khan has slammed KSI, branding the YouTuber as ‘really disrespectful’ over his controversial face-off with former Chelsea and England footballer Wayne Bridge.
Internet personality KSI was due to fight former Chelsea and England defender Wayne Bridge in a professional boxing match next month, however the ex-footballer withdrew from the bout shortly after it was announced.
This came after the pair faced off at MF & DAZN: X Series 20 in January, where KSI made comments referencing Bridge’s ex-wife’s alleged affair with his former teammate John Terry during the live broadcast.
Bridge confirmed his withdrawal from the fight in a social media post two days later, stating: “These are deeply personal comments that affect mine and other families involved in the situation.
“I’m a family man first and my priority is protecting them. Of course, I expected to face some criticism, but I feel like what was said on Saturday crossed a line.
“My opponent is someone that many children look up to around the world, including my kids.
“I hope one day he will look back on this differently. I personally don’t want to be involved in these exchanges. Deep down I know this is the right thing to do.”
Amir Khan Blasts ‘Really Disrespectful’ KSI Over Wayne Bridge Comments
Speaking to Betway in regards to the controversy, former boxing world champion Amir Khan slammed KSI.
“When it comes down to things like this, it is really disrespectful,” Khan said.
“One thing about these YouTubers is that they know how to get under peopleâs skin and theyâre good at it as well.
“They know it will make people flip so they will say something that they know will make someone flip so they get their YouTube buys and get some excitement with people talking about it.
“Obviously, Wayne then pulled out and thought f**k you, I donât need the money, Iâm the one who was doing you the favour, so he walked away. It was too personal.”

Khan was then asked whether he’d be interested in taking on KSI, to which he responded: “There is nothing out there that they have said to me. They keep mentioning my name and calling me out.
“Iâve never spoken to KSI or anyone from his team, but they know where I am and know how to get in touch with me.
“We have mutual friends, and they have spoken to some of my mutual friends and asked about the fight, but nobody has come to me.
“I am my own boss now and have been for the last five years.
“If they want to negotiate with me, I will speak to them and send it to my lawyer and then negotiations start.
“I manage everything and know everything in the game. I want ÂŁ10m for the fight 100 per cent because a fight like that I am not getting cut short with PPV numbers.
“If I want to return to the ring again then I want to make sure I am motivated to get back into the ring. I need something big to push me back to the ring. I have enough money, a big name and have won multiple world titles, the Olympics and a lot of huge fights and tough training. Weâre prize fighters.”
