Barcelona Will Wear Last Season Kit Against Levante

LaLiga holders Barcelona will reportedly not be allowed to debut their 2025/26 kit in their league clash with Levante this week.

Barca could not sport their new strips in the Spanish top-flight opener against Mallorca on Saturday as well.

The league authority ruled that all three of Barcelona’s 2025/26 kit designs would clash with Mallorca’s colours. As a result, the Catalan side played the game in last season’s neon green third kit.

The wardrobe setback, however, had no bearing on the outcome of the game. Barca cruised to a 3-0 victory in the season opener. Raphinha (7′), Ferran Torres (23′), and Lamine Yamal (90+4′) each scored a goal against 10-man Mallorca.

Following the win, Barca are 10/11 with UK betting sites to win LaLiga in 2025/26.

Barcelona Launch Three New Kits for 2025/26 Season

Barcelona have launched all three kits of the 2025/26 season.

The home kit features a gradient blend of the traditional red and deep blue of Barcelona. Clean, modern look, with all logos finished in striking yellow.

The away kit has a sleek snake-skin texture, with the jersey carrying a gold base with purple detailing, paying homage to Kobe Bryant’s “Black Mamba” legacy. This collection also has lifestyle apparel.

The Barcelona third kit for the 2025/26 season introduces a “Bright Mango” colour. It is a throwback to the Total 90 Nike kits.

The new kits have been flying off the shelves. However, the players themselves have not yet had the opportunity to take them for a spin in a competitive game.

This is not the only setback Barca have had this season. They have yet to register Marcus Rashford in their squad, which has postponed his debut in LaLiga.

Barcelona to Wear Last Season Kit Against Levante – Here is Why

According to Spanish outlet Diario SPORT, Barcelona’s kit debut will have to wait, as they will not be allowed to play in them on Matchday 2 as well.

The LaLiga match director decides which kits the participating clubs are allowed to wear. Both clubs upload their kit options into the ‘Kit Selector’ application for the combination to be validated.

Unfortunately, Barca saw their combination rejected against Mallorca, as they had black shorts just like the home side.

This weekend, Barcelona wanted to debut their 2025/26 third kit at Levante’s Ciutat de Valencia. But once again LaLiga have rejected their appeal.

According to SPORT, LaLiga feel the shade of orange in Barcelona’s third kit could be confusing for fans, as it is close to Levante’s red.

So, unless there is a last-minute change of plans, Barca will once again wear the neon green game in the Matchday 2 meeting with Levante.

Barca will play their first home game of the season on Matchday 4, after the international break. They will host Valencia in that game.
