Ludvig Aberg - Golf

This week on the PGA Tour, the BMW Championship takes centre-stage at Caves Valley for the penultimate FedEx Cup play-off event of the season.

The top 30 players on the FedEx Cup standings will make it to the Tour Championship season finale next week, with so much to play for in Owings Mills, Maryland this week.

SportsCasting are on hand to provide both outright and each-way betting tips as well as in-depth analysis, predictions, a preview and the latest odds.

BMW Championship Betting Tips

Last week saw a hugely successful week of tipping from our resident golf expert, selecting both JJ Spaun (50/1) and Akshay Bhatia (80/1) as each-way selections in our FedEx St Jude Championship betting tips.

Spaun finished second, losing out in a play-off to Justin Rose. Bhatia finished in a tie for sixth, with both paying out inside the top 10. This week, we are back with a further three selections for the BMW Championship.

We have selected one outright betting tip and two each-way selections for the 2025 BMW Championship this week on the PGA Tour.

They are as follows:

  • Ludvig Aberg WIN @ 20/1
  • Hideki Matsuyama E/W @ 35/1
  • Justin Rose E/W @ 40/1

BMW Championship Predictions

Ludvig Aberg to Win @ 20/1

Golf betting sites have priced Ludvig Aberg as the fourth favourite at odds of 20/1 this week, and we think he could claim his third PGA Tour win at Caves Valley GC come Sunday evening.

Aberg finished in a tie for nineth last week at the St Jude Championship on a score of -9 par. A top 10 finish when nowhere near his best shows you just how good a player the 25-year-old really is.

The Swedish golf sensational finished inside the top 10 at the Scottish Open recently too, as well as finishing in the top 25 at The Open despite being well off it.

When Aberg plays his best golf, he is without a doubt one of the best players in the world. He showed glimpses of his best form last week at TPC Southwind, with three rounds of -3 par and one underwhelming level par round on Saturday.

If he can start a bit hotter this week and come faster out of the blocks, you can bet that Aberg will be there or there abouts come the back-nine on Sunday.

Here at SportsCasting, we believe the two-time PGA Tour winner could triumph at the BMW Championship. At odds of 20/1, the 25-year-old is our outright pick to win this week.

Hideki Matsuyama Each-Way @ 35/1

In terms of an each-way selection, former Masters champion and 11-time PGA Tour winner Hideki Matsuyama cannot be ignored at odds of 35/1.

There is $20m worth of BMW Championship prize money up for grabs this week, and we feel that Matsuyama could be in for a large chunk of that this week in Maryland.

Matsuyama has been a consistent force on the PGA Tour for a decade now, having also previously won a FedEx Cup play-off event last year at the 2024 FedEx St Jude Championship.

The Japanese golfer has tonnes of experience at the highest level, and has shown he has what it takes to beat all of the best players in the world on more than one occasion.

Matsuyama finished in a tie for 17th last week at TPC Southwind, but shot a -5 round on Sunday. This was the lowest round of the day on Sunday, and we feel the 33-year-old could continue that strong form into the BMW Championship this week.

The bookmakers could be missing a trick pricing Matsuyama as big as 35/1, so at those odds we feel he presents great each-way value to secure a top 10 finish this week in Owings Mills.

Justin Rose Each-Way @ 40/1

Another each-way selection that we simply can’t ignore is that of last week’s St Jude Championship winner Justin Rose.

The English golfer has been one of the most consistent performers on the PGA Tour for over 15 years now. Not only that, but Rose has actually won the BMW Championship before when clinching the title back in 2011.

Rose has been somewhat resurgent in the past year or two, ever since his incredible Ryder Cup performance for Team Europe in Rome two years ago as a captain’s pick.

The 45-year-old showed he’s still got it last week when beating JJ Spaun in a play-off to claim his 12th PGA Tour win. Not only that, but Rose of course lost agonisingly in a play-off to Rory McIlroy at the Masters back in April.

Although he won last week at odds of 100/1, here at SportsCasting we feel that ‘Rosey’ could continue his strong form with another top 10 finish this week at the BMW Championship. Odds of 40/1 still presents decent value.

Justin Rose’s net worth has already hit $40m, and we expect him to further add to his riches this week after securing another six or seven-figure purse at the 2025 BMW Championship.

BMW Championship Preview

All eyes are on Caves Valley Golf Club this week as the 2025 BMW Championship takes centre-stage on the PGA Tour in the second of three FedEx Cup play-off events.

This week is the penultimate tournament of the FedEx Cup, with the top 50 in the standings making it this far. A further 20 will miss out on the Tour Championship next week, with the field dropping to just 30 players for the FedEx Cup finale.

World number one Scottie Scheffler has dominated proceedings this year on the PGA Tour, as he sits pretty at the top of the current FedEx Cup standings. Behind him is Rory McIlroy, who will be fresh this week after a three week hiatus following the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush last month.

All 50 players who have made it this far are more than capable of winning the BMW Championship this week. That being said, Scheffler could be hard to stop from lifting a second successive FedEx Cup next weekend.

So, who will reign supreme at Caves Valley Golf Club this week and claim victory at the 2025 BMW Championship come Sunday after 72 holes?

BMW Championship Odds

Four-time major champion and current FedEx Cup leader Scottie Scheffler is the outright favourite to win the BMW Championship this week.

The American comes into this event fresh off his T3 finish last week at the FedEx St Jude Championship, despite not having anywhere near his A-game on show.

Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy is the second favourite to win the BMW Championship. Despite a three week absence from PGA Tour action, the Northern Irishman is back and amongst the favourites once again.

Behind the Scheffler and McIlroy duo comes two-time major winner Xander Schauffele at odds of 18/1. Ludvig Aberg, Patrick Cantlay and Tommy Fleetwood are all priced at 20/1, with Cameron Young and Justin Thomas next at 25/1 odds.

Reigning US Open champion JJ Spaun (28/1) and two-time major champion Collin Morikawa (30/1) make up the top 10 favourites at the 2025 BMW Championship.

Below are the top 10 favourites for success this week in the penultimate FedEx Cup play-off event of the season:

Player Latest Odds
Scottie Scheffler 5/2
Rory McIlroy 13/2
Xander Schauffele 18/1
Ludvig Aberg 20/1
Patrick Cantlay 20/1
Tommy Fleetwood 20/1
