Xander Schauffele Is One of the Favourites for 2025 PGA Championship

This week on the PGA Tour, the FedEx Cup play-offs begin as the St Jude Championship takes centre-stage at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.

SportsCasting are on hand to provide both outright and each-way betting tips as well as in-depth analysis, predictions, a preview and the latest odds.

FedEx St Jude Championship Betting Tips

We have selected one outright betting tip and two each-way selections for the 2025 FedEx St Jude Championship this week on the PGA Tour.

They are as follows:

  • Xander Schauffele WIN @ 16/1
  • JJ Spaun E/W @ 50/1
  • Akshay Bhatia E/W @ 80/1

FedEx St Jude Championship Predictions

Xander Schauffele to Win @ 16/1

Xander Schauffele, who boasts a $20m net worth, may not have won on the PGA Tour this season, but he is trending in the right direction following a lengthy injury absence.

The two-time major champion has taken a while to get back to his best, but comes into the FedEx St Jude Championship fresh off the back of two top 10’s at the Scottish Open and Open Championship respectively.

The American finished in a tie for eighth in Scotland, before finishing in a tie for sixth at The Open a week later. Not a bad try at retaining his Claret Jug.

A two week break could have done Schauffele the world of good, who heads into the FedEx Cup play-offs in 42nd place. Rest assured he will climb those rankings with a stellar showing at TPC Southwind this week.

Here at SportsCasting, we believe the former Open and PGA Championship winner could win the St Jude Championship. At odds of 16/1, the 31-year-old is out outright pick to win this week.

JJ Spaun each-way @ 50/1

In terms of an each-way selection, reigning US Open champion JJ Spaun cannot be ignored at crazy odds of 50/1.

After sinking a monster 65-foot putt on the 18th hole to win the 125th US Open at Oakmont, Spaun has shown he has what it takes to compete at the highest level of professional golf.

A week after winning his maiden major, Spaun finished in a tie for 14th at the Travellers Championship. He may have missed the cut at the Scottish Open, but bounced back to finish inside the top 25 at Royal Portrush.

He hasn’t taken to the fairways since, and we are expecting the 34-year-old to be back to somewhere near his best this week at TPC Southwind.

It is a golf course that should suit the American on paper, as he looks to secure his highest finish in the FedEx Cup since earning his PGA Tour card almost a decade ago.

At a price of 50/1, Spaun presents great each-way value to put in a stellar performance and finish inside the top 10 of the leaderboard this week in Memphis.

Akshay Bhatia each-way @ 80/1

Another each-way selection that we simply can’t ignore is that of Akshay Bhatia.

The left-handed golfer may not have played overly well for a couple months now, but when he’s on it he is one of the best players in the world.

The American was well in contention at the 3M Open a fortnight ago heading into Sunday, but had a horrible final round to throw him right out of the title picture.

He also withdrew from the Wyndham Championship last week, but at odds of 80/1 it is hard to ignore Bhatia. If he plays anywhere near his best, the 23-year-old could be in for a large share of the FedEx St Jude Championship prize money come Sunday.

A strong showing here will help secure his spot inside the top 50, meaning he will tee it up at the BMW Championship next week too.

FedEx St Jude Championship Preview

All eyes are on TPC Southwind this week as the FedEx St Jude Championship takes centre-stage on the PGA Tour in the first of three FedEx Cup play-off events.

Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy has opted to sit this week out in Memphis, focusing on the final two events of the season at the BMW Championship and Tour Championship in the next fortnight respectively.

A win here for world number one Scottie Scheffler would further assert his dominance at the top of world golf, as well as further building his lead in the FedEx Cup standings.

Scheffler won the FedEx Cup for the first time last year, and looks like he’ll be hard to stop from winning it back-to-back.

That being said, any of the 70 players who have made it to the play-offs are more than capable of winning the St Jude Championship on their day.

Some really consistent performers and former FedEx Cup winners have been priced as big outsiders this week by UK betting apps, so there could be some money to be made on the each-way market.

So, who will reign supreme at TPC Southwind and claim victory at the FedEx St Jude Championship come Sunday after 72 holes?

St Jude Championship Odds

Four-time major champion and current FedEx Cup leader Scottie Scheffler is the outright favourite with golf betting sites to win the St Jude Championship this week at TPC Southwind.

The American comes into this event fresh off a two week break after winning the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush three weeks ago.

Xander Schauffele is the second favourite to win the FedEx St Jude Championship. Despite not winning on the PGA Tour this season, Schauffele remains one of the best golfers in the field.

Behind the American duo of Scheffler and Schauffele are three of Europe’s Ryder Cup heroes. Ludvig Aberg, Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood are all priced at 22/1 for St Jude Championship success at TPC Southwind.

Russell Henley and 2023 FedEx Cup champion Viktor Hovland are both 25/1, with two-time major champions Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas both next in the latest odds at 28/1.

Sepp Straka makes up the top 10 favourites at the FedEx St Jude Championship at odds of 30/1. Below are the top 10 favourites for success this week in the first FedEx Cup play-off event:
